For the Love of God, remove "Doesn't Work" from the Item Defective Return Reason

Why does Amazon continue to give criminal customers a way out from paying for returns, because they will not own their mistakes? Return reason "Item Defective or Doesn't Work" gives customers a way out from EVER paying for a return. Please Amazon remove "Doesn't Work" from this return reason. That is, unless you want to keep paying safe t claims on return shipping fees. Its just more work for you and us...

Indeed, 100% of the time that reason is chosen on my returns, "Doesn't work" means doesn't work for what they had in mind, not that the product has any issue.

Hello @Seller_xRahkQoV5Zz2F

Thank you for visiting the seller forums. I just wanted to say that I understand and I also wish that buyers would be honest about the reason for requesting a return.

They will NEVER remove that.

Remember Amazon's business model... customer first... sellers, vendors, 'partners' last!

The best one is still "Didn't approve purchase".

Which we are responsible for all shipping costs!

Like some how we should of known!

If there is ever a reason to re-coup return shipping, this would be the reason. Yet it is considered seller faulted. All we do is ship the product we were told to ship because the buyer purchased it.

On the bright side. Amazon's safe T claim dept is pretty good if you do a good job presenting your side of the story.

Maybe it's because the buyer "Doesn't Work", hence the reason they have to steal from others to get everything free.

If this option were removed, what are buyers supposed to put if the item really doesn't work? Your whole argument is based on the untrue fact that there are no scamming sellers out there. As someone who has had this issue as a buyer, what then?

completely remove, no. as an also buyer on amazon, I periodically get things that are defective or do not work, so that reason to return is valid FOR SOME THINGS IN SOME SITUATIONS.

.

but pictures or video, with the explanation, something real to back up the claim is not out of line. ali express asks customers for video to prove non-function and pretty much everyone has video recording on cell phones.

.

a message after choosing "item defective doesn't work" that says something about "a refund may be reversed if item is not actually defective upon inspection" could work, possibly big bold letters that cannot be missed. as a buyer, I only return things that don't work, so returning a legitimately defective item, it would not bother me to see a message about that because I don't lie about these things. the lying buyers MIGHT see that message and give them pause if they realize that returns are inspected. (a message about prosecution / lawsuits / police / etc in relation to any fake claims would be better, but not likely to happen)

.

in a side note, amazon does quietly go after the scammers sometimes, but does not post the data. you have to really research, or accidentally come across the data, to learn about these cases.

I have similar numbers.

Customer lies. Amazon gives us our money back (most of the time).

I'm not sure that I understand the issue.
