Safeguard your business with Buy Shipping Claims Protection
Protect your business with Buy Shipping Claims Protection
Protecting your business from “Package Didn’t Arrive” claims is crucial for your success. Amazon Buy Shipping offers a powerful tool to safeguard you against common delivery issues while maintaining customer satisfaction. Let's dive into Claims Protection and how it can benefit you.
What is Claims Protection?
Claims Protection is a key feature of Amazon Buy Shipping, protecting sellers from A-to-Z claims related to undelivered packages. When you meet Claims Protection criteria, Amazon takes on the responsibility of handling these claims. This helps avoid negative impacts to your Order Defect Rate (ODR) and your account balance.
How does Claims Protection work?
To qualify for A-to-Z Claims Protection, you need to meet three main criteria. When these are met and the buyer files an A-to-Z claim, Amazon will fund the reimbursement and the claim will not be counted against your ODR.
- Use a Buy Shipping "Claims Protected" shipping service. We tag services with "Claims Protected" badges when we have a high degree of confidence of on-time delivery, based on our observation of millions of shipments. Services with "Late Delivery Risk" badges are not covered.
- Ship your order on time. This is based on the carrier’s first scan, and not the order confirmation. You can check the carrier’s own tracking information to verify the date and time.
- The buyer must be reimbursed by Amazon for not receiving the package. If you issue the order refund yourself, Amazon will not reimburse you.
In addition to the above, be sure to also respond to buyer questions about delivery-related issues within 48 hours.
Why was my account debited for a Claims Protected order?
If tracking shows the shipment was undeliverable/refused and on its way back to you, we will automatically refund the customer and debit your account for the claim amount. However, this will not impact your account health or ODR.
However, if tracking shows that the package wasn’t shipped on time or was never shipped, your account will be debited and your ODR will be affected.
If you believe the claim decision was incorrect and the order should be covered, you have 30 calendar days to appeal. The Appeal an A-to-z Guarantee claim help page has instructions on the process to provide documentation that supports your appeal.
How to Get Started
To take advantage of Claims Protection, simply use an Amazon Buy Shipping "Claims Protected" service when fulfilling your orders, and be sure to ship on time. These protections let you save time and money while protecting your account metrics.

Shouldn't the focus be on stopping the scams related to "Item not received"?
Why is it that UPS delivery photo is not a valid proof of delivery when we dont use Amazon's "Buy Shipping"?
I can not speak for others but the majority of our A to Z claims are from scammers. Why allow that?
