Can't Change Product Attribute--"Delete Product Listing, Wait 24 Hours and Relist with Proper Information" Ya, Sure...

I'm the brand owner and am supposed to be the only person that can make changes to my listing. Recently I noticed errors in my listing(s). I can't change a couple of product attributes, namely the product weight and package dimensions. These attributes are in the metric system and I want them to be in USA English units. There is also a strange attribute called "Hand Orientation" that is set to "Both" even though "Both" is not a permissible entry for that attribute. I've tried to make changes to these attributes using the Partial Update of the Inventory File but the changes are never made.

I've gone round and round with Seller Support via email. I've called Seller Support and got some surprisingly good answers but ultimately the person helping me was not in the Brand Registry department and could not make the changes to my listing. This helpful person told me the changes to the weight and package dimensions originated with someone in Amazon Retail in Canada and Mexico. (I had listed my products in these marketplaces for about 9 months, then turned off my listings in those countries.)

He told me he was transferring me to Brand Registry and that they CAN manually make the necessary changes for me. He warned me that they will tell me they can't make the changes but that they definitely can. However, his prophecy proves true as the answer I am getting it to delete the product listing, wait 24 hours, and the relist with the proper information.

A search of the forums here has yielded a lot of threads where people have been told to delete listing and relist to fix similar problems with attributes but I have yet to see a thread where this method has been successful. Therefore, I am understandably hesitant to try this "solution".

What say you? Do I delete listing, wait, and relist?

Or do I keep bugging Seller Support via the phone until I get someone that will make the necessary changes for me?

You have to try both.

There have been many times that I have deleted a listing for 24 hours and relisted using a product feed. This cures most of my issues.

Some issues are worse than others and you are forced to involve seller support.

Have you applied for brand registry or did you just create the listing?
