Closing My FBA Seller Account
My account is currently in "Deactivated" mode, which is fine by me. Since I have decided to close my FBA seller account altogether.
I started the closing process for my FBA seller account in November. I had a remaining balance that Amazon owed me which was $892.51. I had to do a Zoom type meeting with Amazon support. Because, for some reason they thought that I wanted to reactivate my account.
I told the Amazon rep that I only needed Amazon to deposit the balance into my bank account, I did not want to reactivate my account. With weeks going by, I finally received my money. I thought now that I have been paid my remaining balance I could start moving forward with closing my account.
Well…, before I could close my account, Amazon turned-around and charged my deactivated account the same amount ($892.51). With not offering any reason for this charge. I don’t have any inventory in their warehouse. So, I can't think for the life of me why I'm being charged. It may be an Amazon system issue, but I'm not sure...
So, now I’m starting all over again from the beginning with Amazon, asking them to redeposit the ($892.51) back into my account.
Is there anyone who can help me resolve this issue in a timely matter?

You cannot close a seller account that is deactivated. Why they recharged the funds is impossible to say. If you were deactivated for IP violations that were not resolved, the money was likely paid out to you in error and taken back. I assume your account is downgraded to an individual account?

Hello @Seller_SURMRsOHE8x1L,
Thank you for posting your concerns with your account and funds.

As mentioned by @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI, any account currently in a deactivated state is ineligible for closure. You can confirm this information on our close your account policy page, specifically under step 6:
- Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.
If the original issues are not resolved, we would redirect you back into reactivating the account. I wanted to inquire on exactly why your store was deactivated, could you post your notification here so we can attempt to offer more guidance on the situation? Although I cannot speak on the charges you've received due to my limited visibility, I would agree with @Seller_4zBzdtgCyS9EI when it come to being re-charged as a possibility. Another situation would be if you recalled your inventory from the fulfillment centers, you are financially responsible for their return, additionally any storage fees accrued during their removal will still occur. Have you reviewed your payments history or transactions to see where the charged came from? You can additionally use the payment summery help page for more support on researching where the charges came from on your end.

Hello @Seller_SURMRsOHE8x1L,
Thank you for posting these follow up details surrounding your deactivation.
Anyways, the reply I received from the Amazon team was concerning a company called "Port 99" which I have no idea who or what they have to do with my account.
Now, to provide you with some background. My FBA Seller account was being fully managed by a company called Ascend Ecom, which was closed down by the FTC (ftc.gov/legal-library/browse/cases-proceedings/242-3023-ascend-ecom/ ) . The Ascend team may have done business with Port 99, but I have no way of finding out now, sense they have been closed down.
Surrounding this situation, it sounds like this is a multiple account policy violation. Typically in these instances we will require proof of association. When you hired this company to manage your store, did you obtain a contract from this company? Where you still using this company when the account was deactivated, or had you already stopped using them by then? If you had already stopped, do you have a termination agreement or is there an end date on the original contract? Are you able to provide examples date from when exactly this company was managing your store?
This particular situation will need this supporting evidence to validate a separation. If separation documents cannot be validated, we will required the associated store "Port 99" to be in an active status for your stores eligibility for reactivation. Do you have any additional or supporting documents to provide?

Basically what this means, is you handed your personal information and financial responsibility to a 3rd party and got a "share" of their profits for letting them use your information. this violates policy on many levels and fact is, you wont be getting out of this now.
