Why is this happening?

Category I equipment and terminal equipment are regulated by ISED, which requires these products to be certified for sale in Canada and listed on the Radio Equipment List: https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/equipmentSearch/searchRadioEquipments?execution=e1s1&lang=en_CA or Telecommunications Apparatus Register: https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/equipmentSearch/searchTerminalEquipments?execution=e2s1&lang=en. Amazon policy states that, to list Category I equipment or terminal equipment on Amazon.ca, you must submit the following compliance information in the Compliance Regulation Type and Regulatory Identification field, which can be found in the “Compliance” tab under “Edit Products”.

• The ISED Certification Number (for Category I equipment) or ISED Registration Number (for terminal equipment)
• The Hardware Version Identification Number (HVIN).

Once you have done this, you do not need to take any additional steps. If we subsequently determine that the information you have provided is invalid or not up to date, your offer on that product may be removed.

What kinds of products will require evidence of compliance?

You may not be aware that you are selling products regulated by ISED. All Category I equipment and terminal equipment require the compliance information outlined above. Examples of products that are regulated by ISED include, but are not limited to: Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, smart home products, and wearable technology such as smartwatches and fitness trackers.

For FBA offers

If your offers on any of the ASINs have Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) inventory and you do not provide the required compliance information mentioned above, the ASINs listed above will be removed from our store. You’ll need to initiate a removal request within 30 days of the restriction to have your inventory sent to a location of your choosing.
