impossible to update product attributes - delete/relist doesn't work and seller support is inefficient
I am the brand owner and only seller on my products on Amazon. I wanted to update my listings, improving titles, product description, bullet points, images and correcting some of other attributes where needed. I can conclude that updating my own brand products attributes is a nightmare, and seller support is absolutely inefficient...
In majority of the cases updating the attribute through 'edit' button won't work. Seller Support then suggests deleting and re-listing the SKUs back in 24 hours, but this doesn't work either (old attributes are not erased from Amazon catalog and thus they conflict with updated attributes I am trying to submit).
Does anybody know how can I manage my listings and update the product attributes without spending weeks of messaging with seller support with no success?

It's better to update through updating template under "Add Products via Upload", using option "partial update".

If you are an owner of the brand, you should be able to update it. Make sure you delete all SKUs that contribute the info (if more than 1 sku) and do a delete from catalog (x = (completely from system) inventory loader template) don't use "delete" option... it could take up to 72 hours to actually update their system in some case. then relist again with correct info. Or if you are the right owner of the brand, open a case to update with seller support to change the info (and hope that the right person take care of your case ..not every seller support know what to do this) ---good luck.

During my recent communication with Seller Support I was told that before delete-relist it's required that the attribute values are updated by Amazon on the back-end first. If they do not perform a backend drive on the attribute, I will be prompted with an 8541 error for the ASIN attribute I want to change.
This is the first time I hear this. Does anybody have any experience with this?

I completely agree with you. I have deleted existing ASINs and waited 24-48 hours and when I use the "Add Products via Upload" it says that the new upload conflicts with Existing! So frustrating.
Don't bother creating a case you'll only get canned responses.

I had similiar issues a few months ago. Deleting-relisting doesn't work, flatfile neither. Because the attributes I wanted to change were important, I chose to sell out the inventory and rebuild a new listing. Good luck!

I have been having exact issues and have attempted all of the above recommendations for the past 3 months. It is also impossible to get a call from support. I am once again trying flat file updates. My listing gets corrected to the right category and then reverts a couple of days later. When i send batch ID info I get templated answers with no solutions. I don't kno how else to escalate or fix this category issue.
