Hello @BLACKEMP,

This is Santiago from Amazon to help you with your concerns.

Thank you for your post. As mentioned, you received a request for a letter of authorization.

You mentioned getting an authorization letter (LOA) from your manufacturer, as a quick question is the manufacturer the brand or rights owner for the product? The reason I ask is our letter of authorization requirements can be very specific on who issued the document. I would recommend checking out our letter of authorization help page which offers guidance on what an acceptable LOA requires.

As there is rather limited information provided, if you need additional guidance or support, I would suggest providing additional details on the concerns causing this request.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.

Hi @BLACKEMP

Cian here with some helpful tips from Amazon.

Thank you for your post. I see there is still some concerns from the brand and rights owner of what a letter of authorization is to include.

In specific instances a trademark you are using is associated with a product that you are selling but it is not approved by the brand to use it the way you are. These can include a word, symbol or design, or a combination of the same (such as a brand name or logo). When someone else’s intellectual property is utilized, having a letter that authorizes the use of their trademark is required.

As Santiago_Amazon mentions, we recommend checking out the help page for what a letter of authorization is and what information needs to be included. While there is not a specific format we do have a list of what’s required for a LOA.

  • Scanned copies of agreement in PDF or Image format are accepted.
  • All information must be unobscured and easy to read.
  • Must be signed or stamped by the brand or manufacturer.
  • If you own the trademark in question, provide proof of ownership.
  • Screenshot of email from brand owner is accepted but the email must be sent from a brand domain.

Is the letter of authorization that is requested supposed to be from the manufacture of the new supplier or the old supplier? What steps did you take to verify the new supplier?

I recommend reviewing the anti-counterfeit policy and the intellectual property policy for sellers to make sure you remain in compliance with the policies and can prevent future sales of inauthentic products. Also, If you need further help in creating your plan of action, I recommend checking out seller university’s creating an effective plan of action video.

The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.

All of the best,

Cian
