Amazon Falsely Claims Our Natural Products contain MERCURY.
Hi there,
Days before launching Amazon deactivates our listings "Detail Page Removed" right as we are about to send inventory. They are claiming that we are selling skin whitening products that contain mercury. I have submitted all compliance and testing docs as proof to the compliance dashboard in account health and it's been over 80hrs since getting any form of response.
I've created 4 cases in support, I've called Amazon and in all situations, they say I must just wait. This is ridiculous. Our products are 100% Natural and Amazon's false claims are setting us back in our business.

woa...slow your horses! 80 hours is NOTHING on Amazon. opening cases will keep putting you at the end of the line each time.....
and yet you just keep on marching. Sellers have been suspended for that, it's called "abusive conduct".....

Hi there @Seller_P05dRYxmXwJtn,
I hope this finds you well!
I understand your listing has recently been removed due to being identified as a skin whitening product and there has been a request made for compliance documentation.
While your product might not contain mercury, there still needs to be documents submitted to show this ingredient is not used. Per this policy, any skin care product that work to reduce melanin in the skin must be shown to not include mercury. Amazon requires that all skin lightening and whitening products have been tested to and comply with the specific regulations or standard requirements listed below:
- 21 CFR 700.13 (Cosmetic Testing – Mercury); and
- 21 CFR Part 710 (Voluntary Registration of Cosmetic Product Establishments); and
- 21 CFR Part 720 (Voluntary Filing of Cosmetic Product Ingredient and Cosmetic Raw Material Composition Statements)
What is your product? Are there any claims or keywords that allude to this being a skin lightener? Do you have the relevant documentation to submit?
We will request this information from you at any time, so we recommend that you have it easily accessible:
- Your company name (if applicable) and seller ID
- Your contact information: email address and phone number
- A list of all skin lightening and whitening products that you offer on our store
- Images of the product and product packaging, as applicable, for all skin lightening and whitening products that you offer on our store
- Images must include all sides of the product and product packaging for our review
- Product images and detail page content must comply with FDA Labeling (21 CFR 201 Subpart C), as well as Amazon’s policy for cosmetics & skin and hair care products. For more information on our policy and requirements, go to Amazon’s policy on cosmetics & skin and hair care.
- Technical specification or safety data sheet that lists each ingredient and concentration or concentration range
- Certificate that demonstrates that the product is currently manufactured in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice Regulation (cGMP) facility
- Documentation that demonstrates participation by the selling partner, manufacturer, packer, or distributor of the product in the FDA’s Voluntary Cosmetic Registration Program (VCRP) – Form FDA 2511 (must match the product manufacturer listed on the product)
- Copy of the Cosmetic Product Ingredient Statement – Form FDA 2512
- Test results from ISO 17025 accredited lab that demonstrate that mercury is less than 1 ppm
I look forward to learning more about your situation.
Stevie.
