Negative net proceeds, but positive total balance. Why will I be charged if I have funds available in total balance?

Hello-

I am a relatively new seller on Amazon and the payment dashboard is extremely confusing to me. My total balance shows a positive balance of $776.83, however, net proceeds shows a negative balance of -139.68 and a statement that I will be charged for this amount in 7 days? Why would I be charged when I have positive funds available in total balance? And I'm completely confused why I'm being charged 139.68.

Can someone please help me make sense of this?

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello @Seller_Xzx31BmPVDc48,

Thank you for reaching out. It is a normal part of selling on Amazon to see funds in the Account level reserve section of the Statement View tab on your Payments report. It’s the amount of money that is reserved to ensure that you have enough funds to fulfill any financial obligations, such as refunds, claims, or chargebacks.

A deferred transaction is a transaction that will be paid out to you at a future date. Most transactions are deferred for some period of time before they are paid out.

You can view a list of your deferred transactions on the Transaction view page. On this page, select "Transaction Status" as Deferred transactions from the dropdown, and click Update to see deferral reasons and the expected payment release date for all deferred transactions. After the payment release date, transaction status will update to Released. Note that only released transactions are included for payout in a settlement period.

How long are funds reserved?

Funds are reserved until a shipment is delivered, plus a reserve period. The standard reserve period is 7-14 days after delivery date (“DD + 7-14” reserve policy). For example, if you sell something on January 1, and it is delivered on January 6, then under the DD + 7 -14 policy, your funds will become available for disbursement starting on January 14. (For example)

In most cases they are delivery date plus 14 days depending on multiple factors.

Please let me know if you still need additional assistance. You may also open a seller support case for additional support.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Micah

I am going through the same thing. I was charged $477 last week with money still showing in my balance. now this week I owe 108. but I have 5,700 in my balance. I'm missing shipping charges that I charge the customer they have completely disappeared. no pay out just continuous charges and I need my money.
