HELP! I Accidentaly Signed up for a US seller account instead of Canada!!
Hi everyone,
I recently signed up for a new seller account. I made sure I looked up the Amazon Seller Central Canada before clicking the "sign up" button. When I got the the part where I had to select the country I'd like to sign up for, there were options from Australia to Japan to the US, but no Canada. After the address verifications and everything, I realised they were asking me for US tax documents instead of Canadian. I'm worried I'll be charged $39.99USD fees rather than $29.99CAD fees if I keep this account. I tried closing the account but no luck.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Or if anyone knows what I can do now?

To turn off the monthly fee switch from "Professional" to "Individual". sellercentral.amazon.ca/account-information/mys
Even Canadians selling just on amazon.ca still have to provide USA tax info -- basically you let them know you are not an American taxpayer. It's been a few years since amazon had me update my details, so I don't know what the current procedure is -- back then it was just filling out a form that amazon provided.
Amazon lumps Canada, USA, Mexico into their Americans plan.
