Item refused by recipient (Amazon Canada)

I have some problems about shipment to Amazon Canada YYZ4 Fulfillment Centre. It is a little bit long please understand and be patient

On Dec. 24, 2021 I shipped my item to Canada. On Jan. 3, 2022. However, my item refused by recipient (Amazon YYZ4 Fulfillment Centre). It is said that it caused from “Valid proof of age identification not provided.”. I still do not understand what does it mean. Who is required to provide a valid ID to Amazon Fulfillment Centre? Canadian Post employee or me? However, days later, the product was able to get back to my country on Feb 24. Yestarday I took my item from cargo.

I asked many times to Canadian Post, Amazon Help Centre and our national postal service to understand what is the reason that my item refues. I started investigation about. Despite the fact that the product reached me, the research is still not concluded  So I made a search about it and I figured out that I have to send my item with Amazon Partner Shipment Services.

Today, I went to FedEx and ask them to send my item to Amazon Canada YYZ4 Fulfillment Centre. We prepared all requirements. However, they told me that, they can send my item to Canada but there is a rule change about Taxes. With this change, seller can not pay the duty and taxes. I want to pay the tax on the products, I don’t want to pass it on to my customers. Also they told me that, there should be someone at Canadian Border for taking my item personally. According to they say, Canadian Post can not be qualified as authorized unit. There has to be regular person who take the item directly from custom and deliver it to Amazon Canada YYZ4 Fulfillment Centre. Is it true that I have to deal with a person for paying taxes and taking my item from custom? In other words, should an Amazon Flex driver who I deal with him/her to collect my product from customs and deliver it to Amazon ? I am confused and stopped the shipment process. Firstly I have to solve this problem.

I am worried about this situation. I worked so hard to be member of Amazon and sell my products however, this situation is pushing me financially and mentally. Please help me about it. Has anyone encountered these situations before?

because it was already loaded on a truck for delivery and a customs invoice attached to the package since the taxes and duties wasn’t prepaid

Fedex isn’t partnered with Amazon. But the tracking is available so they can see it, unlike PTT

They’re called customs brokers and freight forwarders.

Yes. You cannot ask Amazon to be the importer of record. It will never happen. Someone needs to get this package cleared through customs and all relevant duties and taxes prepaid.

Your parcel was refused at the Amazon warehouse because taxes and duties were not prepaid on the parcel, and Amazon will not pay taxes and duties upon delivery.

The learning should be to never use the postal service for a commercial shipment.

You should have used a discounted carrier broker to then use UPS, DHL, or Fedex and make arrangements to use their customs broker service and have all the documents completed and all fees paid in advance - either prepaid before the shipment was picked up or after it was picked up.

I have used parcel forwarding services in the past and have dealt with all import related charges proactively.
