Unexpected late shipping notice

I had a batch of 5 orders in one day show up late in my orders queue and that caused me to be late in getting them shipped. Now I have a late shipping violation. Anyone else have orders show up to the orders management page late?

Have you checked your default handling time?

It is possible (likely) that Amazon has changed that to automated.

You need to change that. And you will probably find that you can no longer set a default value higher than 1

So you must enter handling on the SKU level, rather then rely on your default.

And make sure automation stays off.

I understand you have recently had a few orders which are considered late in terms of shipping.

In order to help maintain a positive customer experience and efficient shipping, our policy is that sellers should maintain a late shipment rate (LSR) under 4% in order to sell on Amazon. An LSR above 4% may result in deactivation of seller-fulfilled offers.

@Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6bl has made excellent points, as I know the automated handling time update went into effect recently. Was this enabled on your account?

Instead of constantly updating your default handling time or manually configuring SKU-specific handling times, automated handling time configures the most accurate handling time for each SKU based on your historic performance. You will want to ensure all SKUs are updated accordingly at all times, in addition to your overall handling time.

If your seller-fulfilled offers are at risk of deactivation, you may be eligible to take a quiz to avoid the deactivation. For eligible sellers, the option will appear in the banner at the top of your Account health page where you will be given an opportunity to take a five-question quiz regarding the LSR policy. You have 72 hours to take the quiz. If you pass the quiz, no plan of action (POA) will be required from you, or will your listings be deactivated. We recommend that you look for and take the quiz whenever available, as this is the best way to maintain your account health.

If you have further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to update this thread. The forums community and I are here to support you.

We are not at late shipment defect, but Amazon changed and turned on the automatic 1-day handling without our permission, without any regards , and obviously we are working 24h in order to have orders shipped. Contacted Seller Support and they are oblivious to this issue, looks like they live in another planet. We NEVER had 1-day , automatic handling time but it is active. We do believe it was done between March 1 and March 4 as last week, we also noticed many orders as late. And again: another horrible act by Amazon and all sellers need to look at their shipping settings. "THANKS" Amazon, for screwing a 15+ years seller here.

I Had the same thing happened to me .

Even though I had disabled "automated handling time" after trying it before (to be clear - it was DISABLED), Amazon changed it to automated without asking or notifying (!!!)

Now I have 6 late shipments and more to come (as the most recent stats are not in yet).

I spoke to account health specialist. He understood the situation and promised that my account would not be deactivated. As for the account ruined metrics and <lost> eligibility to premium shipping, he suggested that I should open a case and talk to Amazon Seller Support.

I did open a case, but it is Amazon Seller "Support" we are talking about . So all I am getting so far are unrelated boilerplate responses.

Is this something @Stevie_Amazon you can help?

I feel your frustration! We have had our handling time set at 1 business day. Now Amazon changed our automated handling time to 2 business days and said this was based on our performance. What? We have been shipping with 1 business day handling successfully for well over a year! We disabled the automated handling time and went back to 1 day handling, but our sales are awful now. It doesn't seem to me like this changeover went smoothly at all. The sales were awful with the automated 2-day handling time as well because it pushed all the delivery dates out that much further. We seem to be stuck either way!

Check to see if you were enrolled in "Automated Handling Time". To check this, Go to the settings gear on the top right side of the home page, from there click Ship Settings>General Shipping Settings then scroll down and there is a box that will say Automated Handling Time. If it is on, turn it off.

@Seller_7a2BDHdrGXS5h @Stevie_Amazon Due to an unknown reason, since last week the two-day manual Handling Time has been replaced by Amazon's default handling time of one day. Check to see if you were enrolled in "Automated Handling Time". To check this, Go to the settings gear on the top right side of the home page, from there click Ship Settings>General Shipping Settings then scroll down and there is a box that will say Automated Handling Time. If it is on, turn it off.

I received an order for same day when I have always had 1 business day. When I called Seller Support they informed me it was an SFP order. I have never signed up for Seller-Fulfilled Prime and the Support rep. said there was no documentation that I had ever applied. They are still working on this problem.

I received an Amazon email dated 2/20 about auto enrollment in AHT - Automated Handling Time.

Did anyone see the following paragraph:

Worried about your account health?

For the first 90 days after this change, your Late Shipment Rate (LSR) will not be impacted if you have a late shipment because Automated Handling Time set a faster Handling Time than your original configuration.

You would think this should handle the Late Metric defects everyone seems to be receiving.
