Restocking Fee

It seems like this is a new change however amazon now requires pictures for all restocking fees it used to be anything under 20% did not require a picture. Is everyone else experiencing the same issue?

Yes - this is a new policy and a terrible one by Amazon.

Amazon is slowly making changes to make it harder on FBM to recoup costs due to customers returning items. The customers know they can lie and claim any reason for a return to avoid paying for the return shipping fees or restock fees. The sad part is that customers that lie to avoid return costs make it more expensive for honest customers since we will have to raise our prices to account for dishonest customers.

Amazon does not care about FBM sellers.

Yes same here. It's believable yet truly unbelievable at the same time. It's one slap in the face after another. Their help article still says "For restocking fee greater than or equal to 20%, you will be required to upload a photo of the damaged, defective, or materially different item".

@Roberto_Amazon Can you please confirm the policy/process for restocking fees has changed in that now sellers are required to upload photos to keep a restocking fee in any amount? Thank you.

In my experience I'm lucky to get a 20% restocking fee if the item is totally ruined.

Also: "this is a new policy and a terrible one by Amazon" is might as well be the Amazon Seller Support motto.

The are doing it to deny more claims as sales are in the toilet and sellers fleeing to the bay they are doing whatever they can to get money back into the customers hands so they can purchase more and return more as Amazon PRIFITS on transactions like returns!

Yes they did this because they know sellers are already swamped with other issues they have us deal with, they just expect sellers not too deal with the time it takes to take pictures. Just another policy to screw over merchant fulfilled sellers. Take pictures and charge more of a restocking fee!

Do not offer returns? I am in handmade and do not offer return. I am not sure if you can but it has saved me lots of time and amazon is really helpful, except with the Other charges on shipping. Other than that they have covered most Az, and I do not accept returns so no problems there. Yes lots of scammers that try to get a free product but you should be allowed to refuse returns?
