Usually an invoice to prove ownership and a signed packing list is all that's needed

Hello @Seller_75QVRObwS92sE

Thank you for reaching us in Amazon forums, I'm sorry you're going through this right now. Let me help you out.

As JPart@ mentioned, an invoice could help you demonstrate that the unit was included in the shipment. Please refer to the below required documents as per our help page.

Amazon requires the following documents to be submitted with the research request:

Proof of inventory ownership: Proof of inventory ownership will help identify any potential discrepancies that may have occurred. Some examples of acceptable documents are an invoice from a supplier, receipt from another seller or signed Packing Slip if you are a manufacturer. The following information must be provided:

  1. Date of purchase
  2. Product names matching the missing products
  3. Quantity

Proof of delivery: For LTL (Less Than Truckload) or FTL (Full Truckload) shipments, a bill of lading showing the number of boxes in the shipment and the total weight when it was picked up by the carrier. The document must be stamped by Amazon confirming that the shipment was received and signed for at the fulfilment centre. Your carrier should have a copy of this document. This information helps verify that the entire shipment was picked up and shipped as expected.

Please review our help page below:

Reconcile your shipment

If you have any question, please let me know.

Both of the replies you have up to now are inaccurate. (Includung the one from the Amazon employee - big surprise!) If Amazon says they have conducted the investigation you have no recourse. Period, end of story. I have disputed missing inbound items a few hundred times and a signed packing slip was never required or asked for. Besides it would prove nothing .Trust me. I have sent over 500,000 items to Amazon for FBA and know, very well how this works. The "good" news is they do not complete the investigation 85% of the time and will give you the opportunity to send invoices to prove you had purchased the items before sending them to Amazon. Be prepared, and keep your invoices organized moving forward as you will need them regularly.

USE AMAZON'S UPS ACCOUNT TO SEND YOUR SHIPMENTS!!! You will not get a better price, not even my 80% discount with UPS is more cost effective then using Amazon's UPS account to ship. The second benefit to this is that any parcels lost by UPS become Amazon's responsibility to replace (through the lost inbound claims process) and Amazon will never need proof of delivery, tracking, weights dimensions etc. as they will already have all of those details from UPS.

Good luck to you. Stick with it. It will pay off as long as you can maintain enough profit margin.
