reduce shipping costs for amazon

Good afternoon, does anyone know how to reduce the shipping cost for FBA since I have to send a package but the costs have increased too much? How can I reduce them?

Send in more units and more SKUs at a time. Other option (which we are doing more of) is to do FBM.

Hi @Seller_8qWioPDudVQTQ!

On April 15th, Amazon will decrease FBA fulfillment fees for standard-size products by $0.20 per unit and for Large Bulky-size products by $0.61 per unit on average.

Inbound placement options will be provided only when your shipments qualify. Factors that affect the number of inbound options include the following:

  1. Whether your shipment includes a mix of standard-size items, non-standard-size items, or special handling categories
  2. Whether each box contains the same mix and quantities of SKUs
  3. Quantities and number of boxes for each item
  4. Geographical demand

To maximize the number of inbound options, try the following:

  • Create separate shipments for standard-size items, non-standard-size items, and each special handling category
  • Ensure that the item mix and item quantities are equal across all boxes
  • Increase the number of boxes

The SHIPPING costs/postage costs have not increased (well, slightly, but they do every year), Amazon's placement fees are causing the exorbitant FBA increases. There are many forum posts about this. Try searching and scan through some for suggestions. If you are small seller, you may have to pack your boxes differently, but the other forum posts should help you.

It is both sad and hilarious that Amazon believes, and has their moderators parrot each time this question is asked, that this $0.20 per unit reduction in FBA Fulfillment Fees moves the needle in any significant way to offset the exorbitant increase in mandatory Inventory Placement fees. Wow! We should all be so grateful for this $0.20 reduction, which in no way matches the increase in Inventory Placement fees, plus what appears to be a sudden an unexpected increase in shipping costs by the Preferred Shipping Carrier (cough UPS cough). More convoluted, poorly documented and difficult to understand costs and logic from Amazon, which appears to be specifically intended to chase away smaller and medium sized businesses from the Amazon Marketplace. If Amazon were truly friendly to small business, then costs would be transparent, easy to understand, and passed on the consumers, rather than to sellers.

Hello Poster

in my opinion, i suggest you to send the FBA goods by the ways of ship, because the shipping fee is much lower, but it needs you to send the goods large amount. Moreover, changing the package to lightweight can be benificial, such methods can also help you reduce the costs, larst but not least, increasing your selling price can also solve this problem.

In a nutshell,to weigh the pros and cons, it's a wise policy for all the sellers to apply the mentioned approachs, only in this way you can gain more profit in the bright future.

good luck and happy day!
