help with orders for ghost books added by amazon glitch

case id 14987018431

Amazon has added books I dont have in stock and put shipping options that I dont use on my products. This is a known glitch thats been happening for some time. I have 2 orders for books that amazon added to my inventory that I dont have and added international shiping to them

Order ID: # 113-6157541-0475468

Order ID: # 113-0022875-0974619

Will you cancel these 2 orders and explain to the buyer that this is an amazon glitch and not a mistake on my part. Again these books and sh were added by amazon and amazon should cancel the orders without affecting my cancel ratio.

So this is the case. I had to cancel a bunch of orders with errors courtesy of Amazons faulty system already.

I was majorly Amazoned yesterday when amazon removed 50 of my best sellers and replaced them with 50 listings that I no longer have for sale.

I made a case, but the answer was...

if you cant fulfill an order due to out of stock cancel it, this will affect your cancel ratio.

So i need some help from amazon mod to straighten this out so I dont keep getting dinged for cancelling orders caused by amazons mistakes

I have the same issue. I can't get a US based seller support to help. But I think showing the listing on Amazon.com and a screen shot of it not being in your inventory should work. Let me know if they help you refresh your inventory. Account health told me that is what I needed to do but I don't know how to.

I doubt you will get any resolution for this. It has been happening for many, many years and Amazon refuses to admit that their system is at fault.

Unfortunately you will likely have to cancel the orders and take the hit.

When you sell a book do you delete it from your Inactive list?

Here is the letter I sent to customers when Amazon does that to me.

To my customer.

I have to apologize for the massive incompetence of Amazon on this order. This book sold long ago on Amazon. They have re-listed it. Sadly, Amazon has very poor systems that are badly out of date, and they don't care. This happens all the time. I do wish Jeff Bezos would spend some of his tens of Billions of dollars to fix his crappy company. Since I don't have the book anymore, I will have to cancel the order. You will be getting an email from Amazon saying buyer canceled on this order. That is the reason I pick for canceling the order, since Amazon screw-up is not an option.

Yikes-I can empathize. BOTS GONE WILD!

The best way I know to prevent "ghost" orders is to quickly delete inactive sales. We do it within 1-3 weeks-but even that doesn't prevent ghosts completely.

However, deleting, for us, does cut such orders down to a couple per year. The most puzzling we've had is a children's title that was ordered 4 years after original sale. Why did it appear after so long? Your guess would be as good as mine. Or Amazon's-which won't admit to having an inherent glitch in their system.

Message your buyer. Tell them you haven't had it in stock for ---. Put the onus on AMZ entirely.

Have you thought of putting your account of vacation for a day or two while you delete/relist?

After posting my response up-thread, had an order for a rare book we just couldn't locate.

After searching in all possible-and impossible-- categories, discovered the d--title was sold in 2018, nearly 6 years ago!
