Amazon Canada French translation

Hi, I'm new to selling on Amazon Canada, and I’ve created my listing in English. The issue is that I read that the product page is supposed to be automatically translated into French when a customer selects the French language. However, I’ve tested it and it doesn’t seem to work for my listing.

I’m not sure how to enable the automatic translation feature, but it seems to be available only for Amazon Canada, and I’ve also read that I need to create a separate listing for the French version.

I’m a bit confused, some people say it’s automatic, while others say I need a new french listing.

If I do need to create a new listing, can I link my product, which has already been shipped, to the new French listing?

Would I also have to create separate ads for the English and French versions? That would be costly.

How did you test? Did you look at your page as a Buyer with FR selected as language? And what type of product are you selling -- some types are not translated.

No. Once shipped to FBA the product is associated with the specific detail page it was linked to at the time of shipping.
