How to advertise FBA products in Books category?
I have talked to Seller Central support, advertising support, and KDP support multiple times and no one can give me a clear answer on this one. I have a product sold through FBA and Seller Central that is listed in the Books category. Because it is in Books, I am told I can't advertise through my Seller Central ads account. I can see the product in my FBA Sponsored Ads account, but it is showing as ineligible.
The product does appear in my (previously created because I have a few KDP-published books) KDP Sponsored Ads account and I am able to create a campaign for it. It is showing as "delivering", however, there have been no impressions for over a week. I was told this is because my KDP account is not "winning the buy box". But can it ever? Since my FBA account will always win (at least for now when I'm the only seller)?
Is it just impossible to advertise any FBA product listed under the Books category? I have another product in Toys & Games and I have KDP-published books that I have had zero issues advertising. But no one can seem to give me a straight answer on how to advertise this one solely because it is in the "Books" category, although it is not KDP published. I've seen plenty of other products on Amazon that are listed under Books and have sponsored ads. HELP!

Advertising cannot be used in Books. Does not matter about FBA vs. FBM
Kindle does not operate by those rules.

You are correct.
It is impossible to advertise FBA products listed under the Books category.
I had the same issue with a book with a soundboard in it so I changed the category from books to Toys and Games - > Books.
I would need more information on your KDP not "winning the buy box". There are more factors at play to troubleshoot that problem.
