INFORM Consumer's Act - Tax ID Number

Hello,

Please let me know which document I should submit for the Tax ID Number verification of the INFORM Consumer's Act?

My business was incorporated in Canada. I submitted 2 documents - the 1st was the business account details where it shows my business number and the 2nd document was my Certificate of Incorporation - but both documents were rejected.

Grateful if someone could help me out.

Thank you

Explicitly for the tax verification process, it is important you follow these steps:

  1. In Seller Central go to the Settings menu and select Account Info to view your Seller Account Information page
  2. Go to Tax Information section and select Tax Information Interview page.
  3. Review the information prefilled on the page.
  4. Enter tax identification number (Note: returning sellers will see the tax information they provided earlier prefilled on the page, and they can update the info if required).
  5. Upload a tax document.
  6. Provide electronic signature.
  7. Submit for verification.

For the document itself, what does Canada provide in terms of tax documents? Canada SIN numbers are substantiated by SIN cards or a letter issued by Service Canada.

You will want to provide all pages of the specific document, ensure the pages are properly aligned, readable, and clear.

All the best,

Stevie.
