Manufacturer Barcode Setup Troubleshooting

Trying to change from FNSKU sticker labeling to using the UPC barcode on the package.

Canada marketplace.

After re-listing item, it gives us the option to enable manufacturer barcode during the convert to FBA step. However, the following error comes up:

"This product offer cannot use a manufacturer barcodes for tracking because an offer is already listed for another product under the same barcode. To use manufacturer barcode, you can check if you have entered the correct barcode. For example, UPC or EAN barcodes might have been entered incorrectly."

No other details given.

Any idea how we can fix this, if at all possible?

Dear Seller,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue with switching from FNSKU labeling to using the manufacturer’s UPC barcode on the Canada marketplace. The error you’re encountering typically arises when the UPC barcode you are trying to use is already linked to another product listing.

To resolve this issue, here are the steps you can take:

1. Verify the Barcode: Double-check the UPC or EAN you entered to ensure there are no errors. It must match the manufacturer’s barcode on your product packaging.

2. Check for Conflicts: Search Amazon’s catalog using the UPC to see if it’s already associated with another product. If so, you may need to contact Seller Support to resolve the conflict.

3. Contact Seller Support: Open a case in Seller Central explaining the error and request assistance in enabling the manufacturer barcode for your listing. Provide the ASIN, product details, and a clear explanation of your intent.

4. Consider FNSKU: If the barcode conflict cannot be resolved, you may need to continue using the FNSKU labeling option for your products to avoid misidentification issues.

We appreciate your diligence in ensuring accurate product tracking and hope this helps resolve the issue.

Best regards,

Any chance you can assist @Ricardo_Amazon

We can give the exact ASIN and UPC if that would help? I think many old ASINs often have several attributes for this product identifier value on the back end of the listing. If that's the case, is this hopeless? Are we hooped as soon as even one of those existing back end values matches to another listing even if we had no part in adding it?

We have the GS1 UPC for one ASIN in particular now which we want to cleave or merge into the existing listing (we've done this in the past to resolve GS1 restrictions) - but I'm not sure if that will also fix/allow us to use manufacturer barcodes instead of Amazon labeling.

Hoping you can advise.
