Issue of Cosmetic products restricted due to Canada Natural Health Products Regulations (NPN/DIN)

I am currently grappling with the ongoing challenge involving Health Canada.

Amazon has restricted 4 of our cosmetic products, citing that they have been identified as Natural Health Products (NHP) or Drug Identification Number (DIN) and are subject to the provisions of the FDA and its regulations.

Upon thorough examination of our products and ingredients, we have determined that we do not fall under the DIN or NHP categories. Our products are, in fact, cosmetics. We have proactively reached out to Health Canada through the appropriate agency to seek guidance on compliance with regulations. Health Canada has provided us with a cosmetics number, and the agency clarified that obtaining a DIN or Natural Product Number (NPN) is not applicable to our case, as these designations are typically reserved for products ingested or containing specific amounts of active substances.

Thank you for contacting Amazon Forums. I understand you have a categorization issue with 4 different products, thus the system is asking you to provide NHP or DIN.

In this case, you need to contact Selling Partner Support, provide the ASINs impacted in your case and request them update the category from Health to Cosmetics.

Once they perform that update, the system will not ask you for the NHP nor DIN.

If after contacting Selling Partner Support you are still facing this issue, please do reply to this thread, tag me and include the Case ID. That way, I will take of it and escalate the to the team in charge of updating the category.

hello.

Had the same thing happened twice.

What you did is good, i did the same. But you have to be patient and lucky to fall on a competent seller support partner.

Most of the time i had the same copy pasted answer, i kept reopened the case. After 3 month i finaly fall on a seller support partner Who read the document, understand the situation and helped me.

We worked with Quality Smart Solutions to get this resolved. Some topical products do require an NPN like sunscreens, diaper rash or anti-itch products. Also the wording on your label could trigger an Amazon bot to delist.
