Multi-pack Listings
I'm still relatively new at this, so cut me some slack, LOL.
I've done some research before coming, but still a confused about multi-packs (not a private label product, if that matters). I've found only 1 video online, and it's from 10 year ago! She made the process look simple. Maybe Amazon's guidelines have changed since then. The person in that video, wanted to create a listing for a 3 pack of a name brand spice. Existing on Amazon, at that time, was a single unit and a 6 pack. She wanted something in between. Comments I've read, more currently dated, indicate multi-packs are not allowed on most products. The manufacturer has to already have the multi-pack if we're to create a multi-pack listing? Below is a comment I saw somewhere in this forum. This is a response, I believe from an Amazon employee, to another seller's question about multi-packs. To me, this answer is confusing. This person states "If you create a multi-pack that is not sold by the manufacturer". Is Susan referring to a product that a seller can create a multi-pack, but no listing exists? How do we know which products we can use to create multi-packs?

To create a multi-pack you have to be the manufacturer of the actual product. You cannot multi-pack someone else's product. You cannot create a listing for someone Elses product, as they will have to have their own GS1 UPC on the product. You can offer discounts on buying more than one of the product.

Hi there @Seller_zAwU7LIgTkpss,
To provide further clarity on this policy I would recommend you review the UPC Guidelines for multi-packs. The general rule is that a multi-pack listing is only allowed for a manufacturer-created pack with its own unique UPC. You cannot generally create your own custom size multi-pack as the UPC must tie directly to the Brand to be considered Valid.
Additionally for Registered Brands, per the ASIN Creation Policy, Amazon limits the creation of new ASINs for a brand enrolled in Brand Registry by sellers who are not associated with the brand owner, which might make it further difficult to create multi-packs in this way.
I apologize for any difficulties this creates. Thank you for your understanding.
