Hazmat Storage Issues

Hi @Christine_Amazonor any other Amazon support team member,

I have a few urgent questions regarding the Hazmat (Dangerous Goods) Storage in Canada:

1. When will more hazmat storage space be made available in Canada?

2. Are they opening any new facilities to handle Hazmat products?

3. Are there any new plans to expand hazmat handling capacity across the current fulfillment centres?

4. Will Amazon reopen temporary hazmat storage availability like in previous years?

Current limits are making it extremely difficult to operate, and it would help to know if there’s any road map or ETA for relief because if nothing is going to be done about these issues, maybe a good idea for us to find other options.

We have been left hanging with no news for close to two years.

Thanks.

According to reports amazon.ca will open 5 more FBA warehouses in Canada in 2025: Burnaby (BC), Calgary (AB), Windsor (ON), Ottawa (ON), and Richmond Hill (ON).

But no indication if any will have hazmat capacity.

The truth is, we're still working on expanding our Hazmat storage capacity, but I don't have any specific timelines I can share with you right now. We're actively looking at ways to increase space across our current fulfillment centers and evaluating the possibility of opening new facilities that can handle Hazmat products. However, these processes take time, and we want to ensure we're implementing solutions that are both effective and compliant with all safety regulations.

Regarding the temporary Hazmat storage that was available in previous years, I'm afraid I can't confirm whether we'll be reopening that option. It's something we're considering, but no decision has been made yet.

In the meantime, I'd recommend keeping an eye on our seller announcements for any updates on available storage space. It might also be wise to maintain some alternative storage solutions if possible, just to ensure you have options while we work on expanding our capacity.

If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to our support channel.

Regards,

JiAlex
