Canada Post 25% Increase

In view of the Canada Post 25% increase, basically across the board effective today, is Amazon planning an increase to the set fees for FBM sellers?

I'm obviously referring to the non-business accounts who are unable to modify shipping costs, of course.

Amazon didn't even start planning for the Canada Post strike until after a month into it and it was already over, before Amazon even had a town hall meeting to try and deal with the strike. They announced the town hall meeting AFTER the strike was over, and nothing came of it. Sellers are still dealing with A to Z claims and Negative feedback.

I highly doubt that Amazon is going to increase the base shipping fee. They probably don't even know about the Canada Post price increase.

They still haven't even fixed the VTR% rate tracking issue with Canada Post and the strike has been over for a month now.

Canada Post related issues seems to be low on Amazon's list of things to deal with.

No. I've selling on amazon.ca for over 20 years, I don't remember amazon.ca ever adjusting the default shipping allowances for Canada (they have done it for the USA).

Individual sellers have to build the shortfall into their selling price and hope amazon does not flag the increase as priced-too-high.

...

The 25% is only for lettermail, parcels rate increases are still in the pipeline.

It would be nice if the VTR exemption order value of $30 max for Canada Post letter mail was increased, as letter mail cost has gone up 25%. A ton of products that came in under $30 no longer do, after I raised my shipping rates to cover the Canada Post increase.

But this is reasonable, and would help sellers. Translation: There is zero chance Amazon will do this.
