Lost my own buy box, yet I'm the only one selling this product..

So I have a branded product, with a patent, and I'm the only one selling it. I've had no issues with the buy box till this morning. I launched in September, and always had the box 100% of the time. This morning it was removed due to "Not eligible to be the Featured Offer due to significantly high price".

I had recently increased the price by quite a bit since i'm running out of inventory (yet i'm still making sales at this higher price), and noticed that my list price was lower than my selling price so maybe that was the reason? I increased the list price to be higher than my current selling price but still amazon says it wants me to lower my price to be in line with their reference price which is way lower?

There are other sellers who are selling a generic version of my improved product at 4 times my current price and they have the buy box. not sure what i'm missing..

There is this semi discreet rule. Its called the "fair pricing" policy.

It has to do with your recent price in the last 60 days. Too high of an increase and you lose the buy box even if you are the only seller.

If you are trying to increase your retail price, try increasing it by 10% max. If you see that your buy box is gone, try reducing your retail price by a penny until its back.

Once you have established your new retail price, you should wait a month before you repeat this process.
