Lost inventory and then found SOME

Has anyone had inventory lost at an FBA warehouse and then later found SOME of the inventory? I don't understand how this could happen and have received no help in the matter from AMAZON.

Hello @Seller_pPTqTVUGoMGnM

Thank you very much for reaching out in Amazon forums, this is Lucre, and I'll be glad to assist.

I understand you have a question regarding lost inventory at Amazon and the reasons why this happens.

We have a process for instances in which a shipment has discrepancies like missing units, and consists of an investigation that we perform after a period from 2 to 30 days after receiving the shipment (in high-volume times, it can take up to 60 days to successfully receive your shipment).

You can request that investigation to Amazon to either, find the units or provide a reimbursement. If you do this but receive a message that the units were not found, or you're not eligible for reimbursement, you could notify through forums, and we'll be happy to engage our internal specialist team to help you investigate once more.

Please review the below resources to know more about it:

Submit a reconciliation request for an FBA shipment

Reconcile your shipment

Please let me know if there's any shipment that you require additional investigation and share the case ID in this forum for additional assistance.

Regards,

Lucre_Amazon

Unfortunately, it seems sellers just have to accept the losses and hope the items are eventually found.

No, you can get a reimbursement I believe 18 months is the window, however, Amazon claws that reimbursement back right away once they found the inventory.

Yes, which will usually be some time after I exhausted all avenues in trying to get them to acknowledge the missing units, they might suddenly appear weeks later. Since they will no longer acknowledge losing inventory from shipments, this is better than just taking a loss on all of the inventory.

Happens all the time. If you get lucky they will reimburse you a little money but most of the time they will just claim they counted and counted and never received your item.

And they will make it as your fault and you will see that shipment performance went down a lot....

Sometime those missing items will show up later. If they have reimbursed you, they will claw back the reimbursement.

But they will not claw back the shipment performance rate defect...

Now when I saw there are items missing for my shipment, I don't even do anything....

Welcome to the club. Unfortunately, t is a normal routine. We send 42pcs of a product, they were lost. But after 30days, they were found & were added back to stock. Meanwhile we have already send another 42pcs making it more that what we need within a period of time.
