FBA Inbound Placement (Optimized vs. Split vs. Partial Shipments) - FRUSTRATED
I have tried to reply to several threads on this but they are all locked so I'll just start a new one. I sell mostly light items (books, media, small collectibles) via FBA. I have tried the different inbound shipments but am VERY frustrated on how hard they are making this on sellers, particularly waiting forever for inventory to be available for sale. I have multiple shipments sitting at "receiving" for WEEKS while inventory gets sent to 50 other locations. The fees on the back end of this are ridiculous and if you try to send to more locations yourself then the shipping fees are ridiculous and it's still not fast to get them received. I would like to go 100% FBM but of course they won't offer PRIME for seller-fulfilled now so folks don't like that. I'm tempted to not send any more into FBA and just sell FBM via economy shipping but I don't want stuff sitting forever waiting to sell like other platforms. This is just so frustrating.

Hello @Seller_O9nTHHtF1UTcN Thank you for checking in with the forums about your inbound shipments.
I understand that it can be frustrating to wait for shipments to be delivered, checked, in and made available for sale. That is especially true during peak periods like the past few months.
There is a Seller Fulfilled Prime program for FBM, and I included some links to review if you are interested.

As for your inbound shipments and fees, our partner team provided the following information on ways to maximize the number of inbound options:
- Create separate shipments for standard-size items, non-standard-size items, and each special handling category
- Ensure that the item mix and item quantities are equal across all boxes
- Increase the number of boxes
Inbound placement options will be provided only when your shipments qualify. Factors that affect the number of inbound options include the following:
- Whether your shipment includes a mix of standard-size items, non-standard-size items, or special handling categories
- Whether each box contains the same mix and quantities of SKUs
- Quantities and number of boxes for each item
- Geographical demand
