798 orders Pending Awaiting payment verification

For some reason i have 798 pending orders from the last month, and receive several per day that sit forever tying up my inventory. Seller support has not helped after submitting an investigation. I sell about 100 units per day, and about 25% of my orders are pending all for the same reason "awaiting payment verification".

Has anyone experienced this before?

Dominic from Amazon here, I see Seller Support provided some guidance on how to approach this issue in the case ending in 0601. Did you try this path?

I estimate that around 15% of orders I receive suffer this fate. I've gotten used to it, thinking this is normal, and isn't actually about payment verification at all, they have simply screwed up the FC transfers. An item can be ordered while it's in transfer.

I love how Amazon stresses that these are THEIR customers but when there's a problem, it's YOUR problem to solve.

Sounds to me like a problem with the Amazon system that allows this to happen. Why doesn't Amazon just FIX IT and be done with it.

If they close your account. They can confiscate your money for any reason.

I see that same thing happening to me. There are some orders that were made over a month ago and it is still pending. It's all FBA so I hope the status changes to Complete soon or just cancel that order entirely.

Yes, we have experienced a high percentage of pending orders. It appears that issue is due mainly to customers holding items in their cart while "shopping around" on other marketplaces.

Scenario has become more prevalent as economy slows down and shoppers are more discerning about their purchases.

Fortunately, items held in cart (reserve) are still available and not restricted from purchase by more engaged customers.
