My wife wants her own amazon seller account
Hello! My wife wants to open her own Amazon Seller account, but I'm worried about us being at the same address. Is that forbidden?

I would advise against it. My wife had a seller account before we were married. She had noy logged into it for several years when I opened this one. No problems at all for a couple years until 1 day my account got suspended for an inauthentic claim. Turns out I had accidently shipped a frosted glass lightbulb when the customer ordered clear glass thus causing the customer to think I was sending her something not authentic to what she ordered.,
Anyways, because my account was suspended, my wife notices an email from Amazon telling her that her abandoned account was suspended due to being related to another account that was suspended. A month later my POA was accepted and my selling account was reinstated. Less than 24 hours later I get a notice that my account is suspended again due to being related to my wifes suspended account. It was a mess.
We got some assistance from an understanding and helpful SS agent that was able to reinstate my wifes account long enough for her to close it permanently. This freed my account back up and I was reinstated.
Like I said, I would advise against it.

The one-account rule applies to the household.
You are allowed more than one account if there is sufficient business reason to open another.
Everything (other than address) would need to be different. And the accounts would need to sell different sorts of merchandise (different categories).
Even some sellers with pressing needs for two accounts have stated that hindsight indicates that it was a mistake.

Hi @GravelStore,
Steve from Amazon here, thank you for the question. You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing.
Examples of a legitimate business justification include:
- You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
- You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
- You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts
Please reference the resources below for more information on this as well.
Comply with Amazon’s Multiple Account policy
Address a Multiple Account Policy violation
Selling policies and seller code of conduct
Please let me know if there are any other questions.
Thanks,
Steve
