Are you constantly missing FBA inbound items?
Happens to me quite regularly in fact. I pack my items carefully, sometimes I only have one of each so it’s easy to know for sure that it was shipped to FBA, but sure enough, once the box gets there and they process it, they’ll find something is “missing” … And there’s no way to get our money back, because they always have a discrepancy between the actual shipment’s weight that we ship and that they received, this NEVER works in our favor. Happened again today, a $300 item went missing. If this trend continues, we’ll just have to stop shipping high value items to FBA.

Same here, like 20% of my shipments, they say there are missing items…
its quite annoying specially when I counted my items 3 times to be 100% sure it match my shipment list…

I have product going out dayly it’s a nightmare, contacting the customer helps but doesent solves the missing product !?
The other problem is I’ve contacted A to Z
And told the as soon as the get an inquiry where is my parcel I tell him to pay them out right away I refund no questions asked and then I’m on the I’m on their bad box because now my readings are so bad that was just an automatic thing that is happening in so I’m responding to the issue even before eight is and get some

Out of the last 100 shipments (12/7/18 to date) that are finished being received, 29 have “missing” items. This is getting beyond absurd. Most of them I was able to submit receipts and get reimbursed but 4 of them were “reconciled” without me being able to submit receipts. It is completely impossible that 29% of my shipments are missing items. We do inventory counts every evening so it’s impossible that we’re making this many errors. We did find two instances where we’d made a mistake and I knew about it within 1 business day of shipping it out. This is absurd. I’m having to spend too much time opening cases for items they lose and then occasionally it seems that they effectively steal my products. I would install cameras on our end to show items being packed up but I know that wouldn’t help me with them. What in the world is going on?

Is there any process for reconciling this? They “lost” 10 items in my last set of packages. I know how I packed everything and the missing items were between items that they successfully received, there is 0 chance they did not get those items.

I’ve had whole sets of items disappear from shipments, I have OCD, so I quadruple check each shipment, there is NO WAY there is any errors, yet time and time again, there are missing items when received and reconciled with no input from me or option to clarify.
Once I had 2 entire CASE LOTS of shipments missing and their response was “The weight wasn’t checked by UPS, so there is no way to prove my invoices are correct”
It is getting quite ridiculous though about the amount of missing items that happen regularly …

In a space of a couple weeks, I have two items(valued at about $150), not a lot compared to some of you guys but still feel the pinch) that miraculous vanished despite being shipped along with other items, which were promptly received. I even had them shrink wrapped with the received items. …sigh…
Perhaps FBA isn’t the best option for me at the rate things are going unaccounted for. Need to come up with Plan B else having to ‘eat’ these losses and with the cost of business going up, this is a lose-lose situation for some.

In the past of the couple of weeks, I have missing items in almost all my shipments. Even in boxes, I have three or five items, they claimed they did not receive all the items. I cannot understand how you can receive some of the items and not all of the items.
I tried not to send light items into FBA, because I always have a few of them that goes on missing and I have taken the losses. But, when big items are missing too; it’s hard to swallow and not wonder what’s going on.

Every single shipment I send there item missing, I pack them count them carefully, how can we raise the issue to the higher management, can’t take these losses of 2000-3000& every 2nd month

I am a very small personal account seller. A number of years ago I purchase several television series.Next thing I knew Netflix had come along and most of these purchases remained unopened. Fast forward a few years and I decide to sell these on Amazon, emptying the FBA program. To my astonishment although only one item could be in one box and all boxes were delivered, inevitably one would not be received. Like all of you I was required to wait 30 days. At the end of the 30 days I would be told that as “extensive investigation” had been taking place on my behalf over the 30 days there would be no further action and I was just out of luck owing to Policy. On my last inbound FBA I sent 2 thinking that would be safe, but no, one was lost. I never received a straight answer regarding how on the Tracking Report items always showed as delivered but were not received. I was simply wrong wrong wrong.
For those of you doing high volumes you will laugh to hear that I am only discussing the sale of 14 items total; all purchased originally thru Amazon average cost $85 each. Of the 14 they lost 4.I will be fee of Amazon Seller Central in Sept 2019 and I will be so happy to get out of this snake pit of lies, contradictions, incompetence and possibly outright dishonesty. A horrible program which I hope someday to explain to some Amazon executive someday. A frustrating useless waste of time and effort for which Amazon should truly be ashamed. A blight on the brand, which those of us who have experienced this will never forget it.

This used to happen to me a lot in the early years of my FBA experience. I suspected theft at the warehouses and didn’t worry too much about it at first even though my products are high volume and not overly expensive but easy to steal I guess. So after a while, it started to add up and I began to report the discrepancies each time it happened, and mostly I would get reimbursement so I was happy. It stopped happening. I think that Amazon looked at the amount of money they were reimbursing me and “fixed” the problem (you can imagine maybe finding those responsible or whatever".
I can’t remember it happening for many years now. But there is another reason I just remembered: I do not ship multiple types of items in the same box. Somehow this really messes up the Amazon receivers. If you pack only one type of product in each carton, all goes very well. Also, if you ship multiple products, split them into separate shipments and pay for the extra shipping fees instead of shipping everything all at once to try and save money. This also prevents Amazon receivers from messing up things if there is only one type of product or SKU and there is only one shipment ID for that product or SKU for each shipment. It also makes it easier for you to keep track of on your seller page and easier to get reimbursement if things should go sideways. Cheers!
