How Do I Cancel an FBM (Seller-Fulfilled) Order Without It Counting Against Me?
A customer ordered an item from me last week that was returned as undeliverable - bad address. I refunded him, and messaged him to let him know that if he could place a new order with the correct address, we would ship it right away, etc.
He placed a new order, with the exact same address. I messaged him again asking for the correct address, but he never replied. So I canceled the order with a reason of "Shipping Address Undeliverable".
Now the cancellation is counted against me, even though the cancellation reason is completely out of my control.
How should I handle a situation like this in the future? It's silly to spend the money on postage knowing that it will just get returned, but Amazon doesn't seem to let a seller cancel an order without it counting against them.

There is nothing you can do. You are correct that canceling the order is the reasonable thing to do, but Amazon will ding you regardless.
Don't worry about it; it will drop off soon enough. As long as you aren't having many cases like this, there shouldn't be any real effect to your account.
