Canada Post Exempt Tracking Number Issues
Hi, does anyone know how to fix the issue for items that are shipped with Canada post regular mail lettermail, no tracking number. My items are under $30 so they are exempt but my customers are seeing that the items they by are delayed since there is no tracking number to update that it’s delivered. Am I supposed to enter something else for tracking number when I confirm shipments?
I know the shipment was delivered by the customers so this seems like a huge fault on Amazon end and really want to fix this so customers don’t just lie and say they never received it…what do they expect for exempt items…

That's how it works. Without a tracking number, the Amazon App is unable to get a delivery confirmation, so it lets the customer know if they don't receive their item by such a date, they can file a claim for a refund the day after.
Exempt from a Valid Tracking Rate (VTR%) penalty.
then ship it with tracking then. If Amazon fixed it to work like you want it to work, then every seller would just not enter a tracking number and say they shipped lettermail.
Exempt from a Valid Tracking Rate (VTR%) penalty only. If you don't have tracking, you can't guarantee the order gets to the customer.

You are okay for meeting the VTR exemption requirement (product+shipping is under $30), but that provides no benefit other than being able to use inexpensive shipping.
I have had buyers complain that they got their package but amazon keeps telling them it may be lost. Amazon should allow buyers to mark their orders as delivered.
To track lettermail you can use Registered Mail that will give you tracking, insurance and signature for $9.75 extra. Starting in May it will be $10.50 extra. You have to figure if your customers are wllling to pay more to cover that cost.

Shipping within canada tracked is way too expensive for small dog tag products that I sell. My customers won't pay $10 more for shipping when they can get it from China cheaper. Issue is with amazon since they should be fixing there system online when shipments are exempt from tracking numbers. Yes people will abuse this but it leaves the small businesses like me with no other options, I just hope my customers aren't dishonest.
