How Long After Issuing Return Label Does Customer Have To Return Item?
I know a customer has 30 days after receipt to request a return. But is there an Amazon policy regarding how long after receiving the return label and instructions they have to send the product back?
We had a customer request a return. We provided them the return label and instructions right away. However, they never sent the product back.
They just wrote in saying they tried to use the return label yesterday but it had expired and to please issue them another label. It has been over 2 months since we issued them the label.
Wasn't able to find any Amazon policies regarding this so any guidance that can be provided is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's supposed to be 14 days (I think), but they could not send it back for months and the return label will still be active and you are required to refund (unless there are issues, like materially different).

It used to be the same but unfortunately it seems the 30 day rule on shipping returns went out the window when Refund At First Scan started. From what I can tell as long as the buyer files for the return within 30 days they have forever and a day to actually ship it now.

Hello @SpinLife_Wheelchairs Thanks for checking in with us on the Seller Forums.
Returns, refunds, cancellations, and claims
As a general rule: buyers have 30 days following the last day of the Estimated Delivery Date to file their return request. (Note: that's 30 days after the EDD and not receipt of the item.)
Following authorization of a return request, the buyer has 15 days to return an item after the return window closes, allowing for transit time.
I wrote "as a general rule" because some product categories have different return policies, and there are extended return periods during the holiday season.
As per our Guidelines for charging restocking fees, sellers can charge a restocking fee of up to 20% if the buyer returns an item in the original condition outside of the return window.
