Suddenly high UPS costs?

Hi, I’ve been selling for a little while, but still very new. My shipping to Amazon has typically cost between 9 - 12 $. Today, I was preparing a package, normal dimensions, weight of 3kg. The cost is 66$!? I don’t see anywhere that i’ve entered anything incorrectly. Can anyone advise on what I may have done or what is going on? thank you.

You did nothing wrong, at this time of year Christmas/Holiday season, all the CEO’S UPS/FEDEX ETC, huddle in their glass like board rooms, and decide how much more their going to stick it to us, under the banner it’s the holidays so they have right to charge higher pricing!

there aren’t that many options for Canadian sellers, the national carriers’ price basically is a rip-off. and thank you to Amazon’s VTR, we cannot use regional carriers which offer $6-10 bucks same-day delivery service with tracking no. UPS, FedEx, Purolator etc, added a peak surcharge between Oct-Nov and usually till mid-Jan, expect to see a price drop in mid-Jan? hmmm. no way, they are increasing the rate for the new year.

That problem could be where it’s going. The lines on the Map that UPS uses to determine costs are somewhat out of control and rediculouis. Somewhere a hour outside Edmonton can cost you $124 on UPS and $25 on Purolator. Middle of nowhere Canada will always cost you an arm and a leg with UPS.
