A to Z claim refunds customer for $1328 with a signature, delivered to the correct address. Help
We shipped an order 701-2227369-7885849 to a customer. The Purolator tracking shows it was delivered to the correct address, the Purolator GPS shows it was delivered to the correct address and we have a signature.
Customer emails a to z and claims he did not get it and doesn't know who signed for it and they refund his purchase. We appeal and apparently a signature is not good enough.
Now all a customer has to do is tell the courier a different name when signing for it and they get the product for free.
All couriers allow any one from the house hold to sign for a package, how is this fair and how can we protect our selves from these loses?

Please anyone help as we can not take looses of this size if Amazon does not have sellers backs.

If Purolator gave the package to someone else other than the addressee at the wrong address, and the signature proves that, then you go after Purolator and file an insurance claim for the shipment and open up an investigation with Purolator.
They then contact the customer, customer tells Purolator the item hasn't been received, and then Purolator will refund you.

That is why as part of the investigation, the courier contacts the customer.
It's not Amazon's fault if Purolator misdelivered the package, why should Amazon pay out for Purolator's issue?

I have had customers sign affidavits from the courier for courier insurance claims that declare under oath that the customer is not making a false declaration of delivery. Usually when it gets to that point, the scammer customer backs off. If they sign it, then they don't have the package and insurance pays out.

We placed an order for office suppliers a while ago through Amazon. It was a local delivery and delivered by Amazon driver. The package was left outside our warehouse door (delivery was after hours) and the driver faked the signature. Funny the double standards you come across. You use a legitimate courier company, get a signature but are out $1,300.00 because Amazon just sides with the customer. We have a delivery from an Amazon FBA driver and Amazon scams us.

We always insure our FBM shipments at product cost, not retail sales price, so then we get at least our cost plus shipping back.

$2.50 per $100.00 more than default
If $7.50 to $15.00 extra on shipping for $400-$700 worth of insurance makes or breaks you making profit on a $1328 item, you should rethink your business here on Amazon.

same issue, I have a customer purchase a dozens hats from my store every time. right after the package has been delivered. this buyer file az claim the second day by saying he didn't received it. then he get refund immediately .

The only way to avoid this is FBA
Having them pick up at post office will deture them from doing this, but signature wont cover you. Amazon customers always get the way. Its a L sellers must be willing to take.
