Refunds for return postage Seller Fullfilled orders -customer "bought by mistake"

I am not a big Amazon Seller and fulfill my own orders. But this is the second time an item is being returned because customer "bought by mistake" I know Amazon provides an automatic return label at my expense for the customer. The last time I tried to deduct the return shipping charge and the initial shipping charge after the return arrived back to me, Amazon would not allow it and it cost me both original shipping fee plus the return fee. Is this correct?

You have to wait for AMAZON to do the refund and then file a Safe-T claim.

When it is a buyer error such as bought by mistake there SHOULD be an amount for the return label that is NOT refunded to the buyer.

You would only have to file the Safe-T for the original shipping amount.

Take pictures of everything for the claim and include a copy of their admission of 'bought by mistake'.

Yes, I've been getting hit with shipping refunds on No Longer Needed returns. I don't think there is anything to do about this. You should not have to file a safe-t claim and take pictures when it is a buyer faulted return. Wher are the moderators on this?

Why can't Amazon simply automate things that are already part of their policy. A customer is returning a product because they claim that they found a better price elsewhere. This is a clearly a buyer faulted return (as opposed to majority of dishonest liars who know to claim defect or not as described, BS, for a free return). The buyer is responsible for the cost of both the original shipping charge as well as the cost of the return label. Amazon uses their RFS and gives out an auto-refund. Their system usually deducts the return shipping label from the refund, but not our original shipping charge. Why? We have to wait for the product to be returned and then file a Safe-T claim. Why can't Amazon's great bots and AI system automatically deduct the cost of the original shipping from the buyers refund as well? Why do we as sellers have to waste our time filing a Safe-T claim just to get back what we are due and that which is part of Amazon policy? In the end, we usually win the Safe-T claim and Amazon reimburses us for original shipping cost (out of their own pocket). Maybe there would be less frivolous returns if Amazon would start charging customers for the original shipping charges and make them financially responsible. Can any MOD reading this understand it and explain this to management. Amazon, fix your system and stop wasting our time on having to file unnecessary Safe-T claims!!!
