Urgent: Industrial Empty Package Scam Targeting Multiple Brands – 1000+ Buyers Estimated, Amazon’s Tools Exploited

To Amazon Fraud Team and Sellers,I report a cross-brand scam network using 6+ fraudulent seller accounts to hijack ASINs (including mine) since November 5, 2024, causing mass empty package fraud. Total victims likely exceed 1,000+ buyers across categories. To protect my business, specific ASINs are anonymized .Please Amazon contact me and I will provide my hijacked ASIN and brand.

Complaint ID: 17126989121

1. Scam Scale & Tactics

Multi-Brand Attacks:

These accounts hijack top ASINs in pet supplies, home, electronics, etc. Estimated victims far exceed 500.

Industrialized Operation Evidence:

Fake Business Licenses: Verified addresses are shell offices

Buy Shipping Abuse: Test buys confirm scammers print labels but ship empty packages

Feedback Templates: 99% of 6+ stores’ first-page Feedback = “Not Received”

2. Threats to Amazon’s Ecosystem

Consumer Trust Collapse:

Buyers accuse genuine brands of creating fraud that results in bad reviews for innocent sellers.

Black Market Profit Loop:

Low cost (bulk accounts + label fraud) vs. high profit ($100k+/month) fuels this crime cycle.

Honest small and medium-sized sellers went out of business:

Due to the hijacking of asin, a large number of honest sellers are unable to sell their products in their stores, thus facing the risk of breaking the capital chain.

To Amazon:

Terminate linked accounts NOW and trace funds.

Build Cross-Brand Fraud Database: Share high-risk ASINs to preempt attacks.

Validate Shipping Labels: Require carrier weight scans to block mismatches.

I would like to add that for the scammer seller: yuanwangyuan888, I have reported to the Administration of industry and commerce where the company is located, the report results have been feedback, as expected, this is a scammer company, the company has been listed as an abnormal enterprise by the local. And yet he's still hijacking my link

We report abuse of all the fraud in the jewelry space, point out how it violates amazon policy and the bot ( at least I hope its a bot ) says - no violation.

I was told once by support that if a seller reports a seller its basically ignored.

Hello, is there any update on this matter? Regrettably, I need to inform you that the seller hijacking my listing has now initiated the process of deregistering their business entity. You can verify the current status of this company. What is even more alarming is that this deregistered company continues to sell on Amazon and is exploiting my ASIN to commit fraud by shipping empty packages.

The team only told me that they would be looking into this but that they could not share any further information. As for the seller shipping empty boxes, I highly recommend completing a test buy to confirm this if you haven't already, then report it through Report Abuse under "Products received are different than the description on the detail page". You can then send me the complaint ID that gets generated so I can investigate personally.

These folks are scammers whats to stop them from sending an empty box signature reuquired? Then they have proof of delivery.

What is the fulfillment issue is not due to the seller, does that mean its FBA and not being shipped ?

We usually see this "Message from Amazon: "This item was fulfilled by Amazon, and we take responsibility for this fulfillment experience."

So if it was not FBA how is it not on the seller ?

Hello,

I'm writing to update my case (Complaint ID: 17261844791). Today I received a notification that my complaint was not approved, even though I provided evidence. However, the fraudulent seller has stopped hijacking my listings and is now targeting other sellers' listings.

I want to share a critical discovery I made yesterday about how these sellers are using legitimate postal services to commit empty package scams:

After researching postal rules, I learned that international shipments often have two phases. For example:

China Post handles the domestic leg in China

USPS handles the U.S. leg in America

Illegal companies can now forge shipping tracking. They provide a custom tracking number showing fabricated:

✓ Delivery address

✓ Recipient information

✓ Full shipping timeline

The Scam Mechanism:

When combining legitimate China Post tracking (real domestic shipping) with forged USPS tracking (no actual U.S. delivery), the system displays a "complete international shipment" that never truly existed.

You are correct, that is exactly how the scamming groups work, and there are a lot more ways not mentioned. Like Jim the Mod said report it. The only problem is finding someone in the company who cares enough to tackle the problem.

One more example of how crossing out bad feedbacks because of "fulfillment issues" is being used to deceive customers.

I would like to provide an update on the current situation: My listing remains hijacked by the seller engaging in fraudulent empty-package shipments. What is most shocking is that this seller has already begun deregistering their business entity – can you imagine? A non-existent company is allowed to hijack a legitimate seller's ASIN on Amazon, defrauding consumers who trust your platform.

Despite strictly following Amazon's procedures and submitting multiple reports, no effective action has been taken. This hijacking has persisted for nearly three months, causing severe financial and reputational damage. This is utterly unacceptable.

You are correct, that is exactly how the scamming groups work, and there are a lot more ways not mentioned. Like Jim the Mod said report it. The only problem is finding someone in the company who cares enough to tackle the problem.

Sadly these sellers are running rings around Amazon. They are playing chess and amazon is playing checkers.
