Deactivating Amazon.ca Marketplace

On my account panel, it shows this marketplace is "inactive" yet I was just charged $19 for a marketplace I'm not using. I did have it active for ONE WEEK in December then decided against it so I guess I was charged that for one week of use, which is ridiculous. Is there anything else I need to do besides putting it on Vacation mode, because customer service isn't helpful at all. Also even though it says "inactive" for Canada, I notice in my inventory panel that some items are active in multiple marketplaces. It says " +1 Marketplace" below some items.

Those monthly charges are all or nothing -- you will never be charged for part of a month.

When you have the NA Unified account, then the charge is the same whether they assess the charge just against the dot com account, or whether they assess it on all three. If you have any inventory (active or inactive) or any activity on the other platforms then the charge is split and each platform charged separately, but the total is the same (or roughly the same -- it won't be exact due to currency conversion)

To only have the charge assessed against the dot com account, delete all listings on the other two and put them on vacation. Also disable synchronization (BIL) so that no listings are added.

Also, periodically check to make sure Amazon has not sabotaged you and added listing there.

Thank you for your question here an apologize for any frustration this has caused.

When you sign up for a selling plan you are automatically enrolled in the the North America Unified account which allows you ability to sell in US, Canada and Mexico.

Here is a 2 minute overview of the North America Unified Account for your review.

Additionally, this page has a lot of great resources including FAQ's on the account. Two of which are the below:

What if I don't want to sell on more than one store?

If you have been upgraded to a Unified Account and do not want to sell on another store, keep the store switcher on the country on which you originally registered. Your products will only list on that store.

It sounds like from the above that you have no items there, so you should be all set. However, I'd still recommend setting those marketplaces on 'vacation mode' as well as recommended by @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6blabove.

What fees will I pay if I sell something using my Unified Account?

For all per-item transaction fees, you will pay the fees applicable to the store in which the item was sold. Your monthly Professional selling plan subscription fee will be allocated to each North American store in which you have active listings on your monthly billing day, and will be limited to USD 39.99 or its equivalent in total. For more information about Professional selling plan fees, go to Selling on Amazon Fee Schedule.
