UPS closing all of their customer service counters

I found out this week that UPS is permanently closing all of their customer service counters around the country. I'm not referring to UPS Stores. I'm referring to the UPS customer service counters that are staffed by UPS employees and that are often times located at one of their hubs. I'm curious to find out how other Amazon sellers who use these locations are planning to handle this.

Where did you hear this?

I know that UPS is closing a lot of facilities over the next few years, but I've seen no indication that the remaining ones will no longer have customer service counters.

Hadn't heard this either -- but a quick google search seems to indicate this is correct. We don't use the UPS customer counter -- we have daily pickup. So we're not affected.

UPS statement says that they are closing up to 200 "locations" due to customer preferences.

let me tell you my experience so far....

i found out 2 weeks ago that they were closing in 2 weeks. lol thats how short notice these employess at the facility here had. . apparently, the employees had no warning. some of the ups drivers dont even know. i was told i would have to go to the ups store. monday was the first day. as you all know, mondays are probably our heaviest days. i was greeted with OMG you have a lot of packages. We dont have room! so i stopped, and said, um ok. do i leave.. mind you they were very rude. once i said if i should leave, they changed their faces and smiled and say oh its ok.. BUT you should consider getting them picked up. so now im upset. i proceeded to say, well the reason i bring my own packages is because its FREE. so i walked out with a ruined day. and i said, well tomorrow i guess i will try a different one.

Tuesday.

did my best to try to get my shipping thru USPS so that i wouldnt have too many for UPS. Before i took all my boxes down.. i walked in. told the guy i had 23 boxes, if i can drop them off. because this and this happen to me yesterday. he said well what sizes. so i said my sizes 12x8x8 and under. he said sure i will take them. would you like a dolly. that was nice. anyway, i have my own little dolly. so once i was done, i said, ok. so this is an everyday thing for me. it varies from day to day. sometimes 6 boxes. sometimes 75. sometimes a little heavier sometimes not. just depends. so he said, well if you can keep it around 23 to 25 boxes and these sizes, then i think i can accommodate you.

he thinks he can accommodate me.

there supposed to take everything i have. it amazes me how these people dont want to work. because thats what it is. they dont want to lift a box. they want to have the onesie twosies they usually get. and here we come, with all our boxes.

so its wednesday today. and im dreading it a little bit. lol. im gonna try another one.. because you know i have all the time in the world to drive all over looking for a nice UPS store. ,

my niece is in west texas and she said that she went to 2 different locations and they were very happy and said sure, bring me everything you got.

i dont get it. the first lady on monday told me that they get paid by UPS if they do pick ups. dont they want to make money then? i just want to do my job, walk in and walk out. thats it. i dont need to hear that you have a lot of work now. complain to your boss not to the customer. i am super nice, always bringing small gifts to the people that are nice back. i treat them with respect. and i barely stepped into the place when im greeted with an OMG. the guy on tuesday, he was kinda nice. but still, that whole i can accommodate you thing rubbed me the wrong way. Im pretty ticked off at UPS, and now UPS stores. and im really going to do my best to give most of my business to USPS. but you all know that every penny counts. i will try to give you an update for today.

While the matter is independent of Amazon itself I understand the impact it has on some sellers and therefore appreciate everyone weighing in above with their experience and processes!
