Selling a Product with Bugs in It

im trying to sell a mix chicken feed that has bugs in it. Apparently it is against policy to show the product despite just about every other competitor showing them on their listings. Now I can't advertise. Rules for thee not for me so that's frustrating.

Hello @Seller_GTVZMhb7l2vYi

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

I understand your frustration regarding the chicken feed listings. Let me clarify our position:

Our policies regarding livestock feed and agricultural products are designed to ensure consistent quality and safety standards across all sellers. While you may see other listings that appear to violate these policies, this doesn't make such listings permissible under our guidelines.

If your chicken feed contains visible insects or other contaminants, we cannot allow it to be listed, as this could pose potential health risks to livestock and might not meet agricultural feed standards. This policy applies to all sellers equally.

If you notice competitor listings that violate these policies, I encourage you to:

  • Report these listings through the "Report incorrect product information" button
  • Include detailed information about the violation
  • Our team will review and take appropriate action

To list your product successfully, ensure it meets our quality standards before photographing and listing. If you believe your product has been incorrectly flagged, you can appeal through Seller Central with supporting documentation about your product's safety and compliance.

We aim to maintain a fair marketplace for all sellers while ensuring product safety and quality for our customers.
