FBA Lost Inventory and long check in times
Hi everyone,
I'm a new seller on Amazon and use FBA primarily. I've gone through the forums and read up on this topic but I would really like to hear some more insights or advice. Out of the 9 shipments that I have sent to FBA Amazon, I've already had 2 instances where boxes with inventory went missing (I had invoices and Amazon reimbursed me) the warehouse was YOW3 (it seems like others have had issues with this warehouse as well). I now have a shipment sitting in YYZ4 for over a week and am worried that this will be the same situation (I only just saw that many people have had issues with the YYZ warehouses as well). This is ok when you have one sku in a package, but when you have multiple items and skus this can be a pain to deal with (in addition to the lost sales revenue!).
Initially, I thought this was an issue because of Prime Day and it being a peak period. But now it seems that this is common throughout the year and I have realized that keeping organized documentation of everything is very important to make sure that you can submit a case.
Questions:
1. It seems like there is advice about avoiding sending to certain warehouses, can anyone let me know which ones are the best to ship to and which ones are best to avoid?
2. Are there instances where the package/items do end up located or once it's lost we can assume it's gone forever?
3. I've read that 2D bar-codes help with this issue, has anyone used them?
4. Is there anything else we can do to avoid this?
Thanks in advance!
