How Is Automated Shipping generating Deliver Promise date?
I want to use Shipping Setting Automation as it would make my life much easier if customers were shown accurate delivery dates based on their precise location but I've noticed Amazon often generates a "Deliver By" date that is several days later than when the service I've selected can get it there.
For example, here's a current order I'm preparing to ship:

You can see "USPS Ground Advantage (1 - 70 lb)" was selected to calculate a Deliver By date of May 13th. However, when I go to purchase shipping...:

You can see USPS Ground Advantage shows an estimated delivery date of May 10th, or 3 days sooner than what Amazon is showing the customer before they order. And it's not just this order, I see this consistently.
My concern here is that my shipping times are erroneously being shown as slower than they actually are, making me less competitive than I should be. Am I doing something wrong or do the automated settings just not work? I've checked my settings, confirmed my handling time is correct (1 day) and don't see any reason why this should be happening. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

I think Amazon does some padding on what they show the buyer when selecting USPS shipping services due to the USPS being so bad these days. I am seeing the same, when calculating using USPS Ground Advantage and shipping on the last ship by day, Amazon says the package will get there a day or two before what they showed to the buyer. Even though they do this padding, some packages still get there late. The USPS is all over the map. Some packages arrive way early, some right on time, some a day or two late and some arrive weeks late. There's really no telling what you'll get with them these days.

I had a minor mental breakdown a couple weeks ago and enabled this feature.
The only effect that I saw was a DECREASE in orders as a result.
I suspect it is because of the insane delivery estimate times that I just noticed today and IMMEDIATELY disabled the feature.
This was what popped up for an order going about 60 miles away with the PO showing 2 day delivery!
