Civic Holiday being counted as a business day
Any other sellers in Canada noticing they have orders that are expected to ship on the holiday? I contacted Amazon Seller Support and explained it’s a holiday in Canada and it would be impossible to ship the day and there answer was try to ship on the weekend then and closed the case. We all know Canada Post, Fedex and UPS are all closed on weekends plus any holidays.
I reopened it asking why they’re treating this as a business day and not like any other holiday such as Christmas or Easter and haven’t got a reply yet. Luckily most of my stuff I can ship today but I have 2 days handling so I have a business day to pick up from my warehouse or a distributor.

The problem is that it is not a holiday in every province and has different names in several of them.
Your best action is aim to ship before Monday, noting that Canada Post outlets (in stores) and Fedex or UPS will still accept packages on the weekend (at least Saturday) in most locations.
Otherwise, have your item all ready to ship out first thing on Tuesday.
Amazon does not expect same or even next day handling, but it is pretty straight forward to get shipments out within 2 days - even if one of them is a holiday.

Finally got a reply back on my case after several follow up emails with a real solution but a little to late. I asked them why it took several emails to finally get a proper resolution to this case instead of a generic reply pretty much saying to bad about the holiday you need to ship that day still.

This is *** with Amazon Business Seller Support. I understand you are concerned about holiday closures in Canada impacting your ability to fulfill these orders per Amazon’s guideline. I do apologize for the impact of this situation, I wanted to let you know that we have implemented an update to our internal system to include August 6th 2018 to be a national holiday (Civic Day). In addition, I am providing a solution that will help you mitigate the impact of any carrier closures on holidays in the future. I have made leadership aware of your difficulty with our policy and my recommendations to mitigate the impact of upcoming Canadian holidays. If after reading this email, you are not satisfied with the steps I have taken to address your concern, and you would like to arrange a time to speak with someone from our Leadership team, please write us back with the best time to reach you.
While our internal system has been updated to include Civic Day on the 6th, this will not apply to any order already placed. If you have ordered that you were unable to ship due to a holiday closure in the past, and you have concerns regarding your account metrics, please reach out to seller-performance@amazon.ca to explain that the items shipped late due to the holiday not reflecting appropriately.
