How to see final cost of inward FBA shipments

When your inward shipments are closed, is there a way to see the final cost? I can only find the original estimated cost but understand it can change based on weight and dimension variance.

Or perhaps we can simply see the actual dimension and weight measurements recorded by the carrier and/or Amazon?

Your question should be a warning to all sellers considering using FBA.

FBA selling is an open pit of hidden fees, bad returns, and lost inventory. You bought your product wholesale with an intended profit to be made.

When a seller uses FBM they only pay a "Known-Upfront" commission to Amazon per item sold. It is easy to determine your profit and keep it for yourself.

When a seller uses FBA, they lose all control over their desired profit. The longer the product sits there with no sales the more of your profit Amazon takes. If the product is over the storage limit, Amazon takes more of your profit. If a product goes below Amazon accepted inventory level, the more of your profit Amazon takes. SThen there is shipping surcharges Amazon will assess, and more of your profit is taken. And we will not even address returns which Amazon will handle for you any way they please, at the seller's expense.

Now, back to the OP'a question. Amazon is taking an unknown portion of your profit before the selling even begins.

Hi @Seller_DPetgMN6a9UZU,

Dominic from Amazon here, happy to help. I am assuming you are referring to the shipment charges to send items to the FC. You will be able to see this charge in your payment tab in the transaction level statement. If you filter the transaction type by Services Fees, you will be able to see inbound transportation charges. You can click this link and see the final cost charged for this.

Best,

Dominic
