How to Restrict or Require Approval for Other Sellers on My Trademarked Listing
Hi,
I own a trademarked brand (pending status with USPTO), and I am the owner of a listing on Amazon for my trademarked product. However, I’ve noticed unauthorized sellers, including several from overseas, particularly from China, listing fraudulent versions of my product under my listing.
These sellers often offer counterfeit or low-quality versions at significantly lower prices and long shipping times, which harms my brand reputation and confuses customers. Additionally, they steal the Buy Box by undercutting legitimate pricing, further damaging my ability to sell my genuine product.
I want to ensure that only approved sellers can offer my product for sale under my listing and prevent these unauthorized actions.
Could someone please guide me on the steps required to:
Restrict unauthorized sellers from listing under my trademarked product.
Set up an approval process so that sellers must apply or be approved to sell on my listing.
I’ve already enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, but I’m unsure how to move forward with restricting seller access or managing approvals.
Any advice or resources on how to tackle these issues and protect my brand would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

If your trademark is pending there is nothing you can do.

Hello @Seller_xb78BEX9VbF1y,
I do understand the question you are asking and can provide some insight, but I do want to get 1 thing out of the way first. Amazon Brand Registry is not for controlling the Featured Offer and notices of Exclusive Distribution are not enforced by Amazon.
I would like to call your attention to the "Protect your brand," section of the Launch your brand with Amazon page. In that section it references "machine learning and proactive protections that help block and prevent inaccurate product information, counterfeits, fraud, abuse, and bad actors—before they impact your brand and customers." This will only get you so far, so the best way to increase the protections that are associated with your brand are to utilize the Report a Violation tool on the Brand Registry site and have those complaints accepted. Doing this will provide the necessary nuances of your specific brand and what you are experiencing to those protections which will benefit you in the longer term.
I do understand that this seems cumbersome, but please know that Community Managers are here to help you through it and I strongly recommend taking a look at the Intellectual Property for Rights Owners help page as this has so much information and guidance on protecting your IP.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best, Dougal
