Amazon's large-volume orders are facing unreasonable returns. Who will protect the rights of sellers?

I have never had such an outrageous experience!!

I had an order where the buyer bought 50 items and returned 29. This not only caused me a huge loss, but the listing was also marked with a high return rate. What's even more sad is that the buyer refused to communicate. Can anyone help me!

"Can anyone help me!"

Probably not. Have you tried to see if it was a competitor attacking your product?

I would get 'curious' and see if the buyer happens to show that they work at a competitor in their Facebook profile.

For a small amount of money you can do a search for almost anyone online and see where they work and who they are related to.

Amazon might not like it but they search every facet of all of us all the time. Protecting OUR assets is just as important.

Seems like every single time I get a large multiple-quantity order, there is ALWAYS a problem. ALWAYS.

Perhaps limit how many of a given item can be purchased at one time?

They can get around it by making multiple orders, but at least it will show some nefarious intent by going around your limits.

Been there. A customer purchased 36 of an item. They filed a return. 1 of the 36 items were returned. Amazon initiated a 100% return on all 36.

Appeal rejected. Amazon claims that the customer says that they returned all 36. End of story.

Truthfully, Amazon is now the land of criminal scamming low lives. Amazon has created a paradise on Earth for every piece of criminal degenerate scum to get freebies.

ITS SIMPLE. BLOCK THE BUYER FROM FUTURE PURCHASES. AND THEY CAN NEVER BOTHER YOU AGAIN. OH WAIT... THIS IS AMAZON. WE CANT DO THAT ON HERE... DESPITE HUNDREDS OF SELLERS ASKING FOR THIS RIGHT, when customers defraud sellers in situations like this...

The only thing you can do is go into the listing, find the "MAX Quantity" field, and LIMIT the number of units purchased per order to 1 or 2, or however many you want. I sold over 8000 orders in the last 12 months. I only HAD 1 customer out of 8000, order more than 3 of any one item. He ordered 5 units of the same toy. Know how that turned out? He returned THEM ALL unopened, claiming "not as advertised". Item had a perfect sales record, no other returns but his 5 orders. They were returned, MINT unopened, nothing wrong with them. The product was perfectly advertised, proper pictures, proper size. Another customer about 5 years ago (40,000 orders ago), also purchased a decent quantity (about 6 Star Wars Black Series 40th Ann. Boba Fett Figures). Business customer. He returned THEM ALL. I even contacted him beforehand, and ASKED, "DId you mean to get 6 of the exact same item? The order is expensive, at nearly $200 total, and the shipping would also be expensive, nearly $20. Please confirm before we ship these, as we cannot afford returns on an order this large. " Got no reply. But then he received them, a MINT sealed factory case, of sets, and returned them ALL, lied about return reason, stating defective, and had me pay the round trip shipping. They were all returned MINT in box. Sold all 6 afterwards to individuals, not a single return. He basically changed his mind, and just lied about the return reason to have me eat the $20 return shipping. I lost nearly $50 in round trip shipping and fees. Next day I reduced the quantity to 1 per customer. Never had a return again. Now no one can buy more than 1 set. Hate to say it, but when a customer buys a large quantity on here, if you reach out to them to make sure it wasnt a mistake, and they don't respond, they are likely going to have a very high return rate. Customers that order large amounts and don't respond, often are shady.

What was the return reason? Were the items returned damaged?

Good luck!!! Every large volume order I was getting, I was running into this constantly!! Zero help from Amazon as partner support was apparently baffled at this. After weeks of this, I decided to only list a set amount of my inventory. This is merely my band-aid for the time being but in all honesty, the constant maintenance of updating inventory quantities is such a drain of time.

They need to implement something to curb the return culture they have created. Maybe tell every customer they get up to 10 returns a year, but after that, some sort of return fees kick in....I think most reasonable buyers would be fine with that.

Amazon's bots spend so much time "finding" pricing errors (100% wrong in the book department, in my experience), but they are apparently unable to flag and report a 48% return rate that indicates potential fraud against the seller.
