Reporting Fraudulent Returns as Abuse of Amazon Policies
Hello Wonderful Sellers,
So I get a ton of fraudulent returns. I have had items returned that are completely different products but put in the original box of the item they purchased from me, I have had original boxes filled with paper or bubble wrap. I would say 25% of my returns are like this. I get reimbursements back for these items but was only recently informed that I have to open an abuse case against the buyer as Amazon does not do anything to the buyer about fraudulent returns unless one is opened.
My question is, is it worth it? What are the pros and cons? Can the buyer then come and put a bad review on my page if I win an abuse case? What even happens to the buyer if I do win?

Hello @Seller_WVONO6y2FaZyY,
This is Ka from the Forums Community Management team. I hope you are doing well.
We appreciate that you've posted and shared with the community your question about abuse of Amazon policies.
We take fraud, scam, phishing and spoofing attempts from any party very seriously; and any of these conducts or actions are prohibited by our Amazon policies.
In your specific case, if you experienced one or more buyers have been having these unaccepted behaviors repeatedly and suspect that these are premeditated actions and affects your business as a seller; what we recommend first is to gather all the evidence possible, tracking, delivery confirmations, signature confirmations, photos of items and orders before you ship them, and even when you receive a return and everything you come across worth documenting in order to prove that there is abuse from a buyer.
We recommend you to take these steps first in case you want to take the Report Abuse route, so you can provide all the details about the incidents you experienced. Any abuse of our Amazon policies must be reported to eradicate abuses in our community and platforms.
If you want to report an abuse, you can go the main menu Performance > Account Health, then click on Report Abuse.
Please visit our Seller University page and watch the video on this topic.
We appreciate your participation in the forums, and we really hope this helps to solve your concern.
Best regards,
Ka
