I'd like to share my plans with you as well:
Regarding professional and personal development 🧠💼, I'm focused on deepening my knowledge of artificial intelligence. I believe this technology will continue to transform e-commerce, and I want to be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities that arise. Is anyone else exploring this field? What resources would you recommend?
On the work-life balance front ⚖️, one of my goals is to take at least 4 international trips. Travelling not only helps us disconnect, but it also exposes us to new ideas and cultures that can inspire our businesses.
I'm considering various destinations, but I'd love to hear your recommendations. What places do you think could be interesting both for relaxation and for gaining new business perspectives? 🌍✈️
I hope we can share travel ideas and maybe even organize a sellers' meetup in an exciting destination!
What do you think? Does anyone else have travel plans for 2025? 🤔

We are planning to try and expand more outside of Amazon to other marketplaces and put some work in on our own website, as there is no seller support anymore, and due to that, it costs Small Businesses obscene amounts of time and money to continue being an Amazon business and dealing with the issues that Amazon brings, that does not happen anywhere else.
The way Amazon handled and did not acknowledge the Canada Post strike is a huge issue. The bottom line is, Amazon doesn't care about their selling partners anymore.
Also, the Purolator tracking glitch that started in April still hasn't been resolved. I have an open case for the last 8 months. I get a reply every few days that they are waiting for a response from the team they escalated to.
A simple tracking glitch is taking Amazon programmers over 8+ months to fix. Did Amazon fire all their developers?
Just other marketplaces.
Amazon sellers get their accounts shut down due to multiple account violations from opening up in other marketplaces. Also, if you get an account health violation in another marketplace, it affects your primary marketplace too, by holding your funds due to a BS issue or verification issue in some other part of the world.
The system is broken.
Amazon damaging and losing inventory at the fulfillment centers and refusing to reimburse is also a huge problem. Other marketplaces don't have this issue.
Try to get off Amazon and get signed up with other e-commerce competitors.
Other marketplaces don't have account level reserve or deferred transactions, holding your payouts for 3 weeks. This is murder on cash flow for small business. Business have rent to pay for their warehouses and employee wages.
I can see it being that way for the first 3 months or 1 year as an Amazon seller until you build positive account health, but once you've proved yourself, there should be no payment holds.
Inflation, Poor Canadian dollar, and government that is out of confidence and may be prorogued during the US Presidential office takeover in January by the Trump administration that may put on tariffs.
By reducing the amount of business we do though Amazon.
Amazon required us to be available all through christmas and new years to be able to within 24 hours, respond to customer messages, approve return claims, and appeal A to Z claims. This is time that we are supposed to spend with our loved ones. eBay allows vacation mode, and will let a customer know that a seller will contact the customer to deal with the issue when the seller is back from Vacation.
Artifical intelligence will impact Amazon business negatively huge. It has already shut down and suppressed 1270 of our Amazon listings, which means that Amazon's customers have a poor buying experience and have to go to alternative marketplaces to purchase their products. It continues to flag false positives and restricting listings, and it takes seller support 2-3 months to deal with the issues before they are resolved, and that's only IF, you can reach a human that can comprehend and understand the issue, and figure out how to escalate the case properly.
Other marketplaces, simply, DON'T have these issues.

There really isn't anything we need to envision and adapt to in 2025, other then start making concessions to get off this marketplace. That is our professional goal for 2025 for our business, to reduce our reliance on Amazon, as Amazon isn't making any concessions for their selling partners, why should we?
Yes, I totally forgot about that.
Correct. I just had to head into our warehouse to deal with Amazon issues on a Sunday, instead of spending time with my Partner, and had to push the time to spend with my partner to this evening, and then back at work dealing with Amazon issues on Monday morning.

Our goal in 2025 is to lose less money and our decision is to switch from FBA to FBM. In 2024, Amazon has lost too many products, are taking everything back no question asked (even possibly some burned bulbs or products that are not ours). We know our sales will be dropping big time in 2025 because of this decision, but at least we will have better control as our level of service seems to be superior to Amazon. We ship our orders on time, and we don't take back old burned bulbs or products the client bought on another platform that are not the product we sold.

Hello community,
Thank you all for your thoughtful and candid responses. Your insights provide a valuable perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing Amazon sellers in Canada. I appreciate your openness in sharing your experiences and future plans.
It's clear that many of you are facing significant challenges, from operational issues to concerns about the platform's support and policies. Your feedback about expanding to other marketplaces, focusing on your own websites, and the difficulties with account health, inventory management, and customer service responsiveness are all important points that deserve attention.
Regarding the technological impacts, particularly AI, it's evident that while innovation can bring benefits, it also presents new challenges that need to be addressed. Your experiences with listing suppressions and the time taken to resolve issues are concerning, and it's feedback we take seriously.
The shift from FBA to FBM that some of you mentioned is an interesting strategy to gain more control over your inventory and customer service. While this may impact sales in the short term, it's understandable that you're prioritizing long-term sustainability and quality of service.
Your comments about work-life balance, especially during holiday periods, highlight an important aspect of seller well-being that warrants further consideration.
We value your feedback and use it to continually improve our services and seller experience. While I can't address specific account issues or policy changes in this forum, I encourage you to continue using the official channels like Seller Support for individual concerns.
For those looking to diversify or explore other options, it's always wise to consider multiple channels for your business. However, we remain committed to working on improvements that address seller concerns and create a better environment for all our partners.
Thank you again for your participation in this discussion. Your insights are crucial in shaping the future of selling on Amazon Canada. We're listening, and we're committed to working on solutions that benefit our entire seller community.
