Can OA continue?

OA sellers usually purchase discounted products from shopping platforms such as Wal-Mart and Belk, and sell them on Amazon. Generally only receipts can be provided and not invoices. Recently, I have seen some situations on the forum. Amazon seems to be more and more inclined to require product invoices and require brand or dealer authorization. The risk of selling accounts seems to be there. I really want to ask everyone, can OA or RA continue? What should be the correct posture?

Can OA continue?

Of course, with one seller falling after another. But there are plenty more to take their place.

Considering that Amazon used OA from Walmart as the prime example of what sort of selling IS NOT ALLOWED -- why would you do this?

Not OA or RA, despite the numerous youtube, facebook...posters is not allowed anymore. This is not a good business plan for Amazon anymore.

To REALLY answer your question without any snark;

"NO"

Amazon has effectively phased-out RA on it's platform.

Now ONLY Wholesale Invoices are accepted, not Receipts.

Yes, it used to be different, but Amazon has changed.

And, as of very recently, even Wholesale Invoices are not being accepted where the "Brand" has decided to sell on Amazon directly.

Sell those items on a different platform and delete the listings to protect your 1-per lifetime Amazon Selling account.

Establish a relationship with an Authorized Wholesale Distributor to continue selling on Amazon.

Good Luck!

I personally know numerous OA/RA sellers doing $1M+ in sales per year. There are smart tactics to OA/RA success on Amz. Some of those tactics include "buying wide not deep", specialized tools that track prohibited brands, proper analysis of listings to sell on and those to avoid, bundle mastery - to name a few. Most posters who I see in trouble from OA/RA it is apparent they lack intelligence in this space.

I got my start on Amz with OA/RA but eventually transcended to a wholesale model due to its sustainability and scalability plus the plethora of business relationship connections built. Can a business model be built on OA/RA, a definite yes - I've seen it done on a large scale. However I advocate for long term goal of wholesale and the holy grail building your own brand.

So serious question:

Why do you pop up only when someone says that OA/RA is risky? Why do you never seem to chime in to help when someone posts stating that their account is suspended because they have only receipts, not invoices?

I know over 15 sellers with 100+ years combined of OA on Amazon.
View post

15, huh? So roughly the same number of people who post on the forums that they've been suspended EVERY WEEK.

Can it be done? Sure. Just like you can take a short-cut across a mine-field, if you know exactly where to step. But just like walking across a mine-field, if you don't know what you are doing, the risks are real.

Again, why don't you ever help those who read your posts and think "RA is allowed, I can do that"?

I don't think that OA will last, it'll keep going for another few years but after that Amazon will lay the hammer down.

However.. currently Amazon DOES accept receipts. Everyone saying that they don't hasn't sent in a receipt to get ungated recently. I have seen sellers I know provide receipts from retailers and get ungated as early as last week. This is not an uncommon occurrence. As long as the invoice has all the information Amazon needs they will let it go through.

But again, this wont last for long.

I do primarily wholesale for 5 years now but still 10% RA. I know many people still doing RA/OA 100% over 1 million in sales per year. They got product complaints before and sometimes they just cant sell a product anymore because of only store receipts but they never got banned. New accounts I don't know if that is any different from older established ones so can't say on that.

I wouldn't trust the forums at all, its repeated nonstop on here you cant have more than one account but I escalated up to What was formally Jeffs top team and got a call from the head person in charge telling me not to listen to forums you can have as many accounts as you like just don't sell the same products on them.
