Automated handling time ignored holidays and Weekends

Hey guys,

Has anyone else received late shipment violations because the auto handling was automatically turned on, set you to next day delivery. Then it ignored your handling time you added to every SKU, store hours, and week ends. making it so you had to ship things on a Saturday and Sunday, instead of rolling it over to the following Monday. Also, seeing a large yellow bulletin saying your at risk of deactivation!

Then no matter how you tried to explain it to the Internal team to try and get it fixed, they just send you the same copy and past reason. I had one phone call with a tech that finally was able to point me to this New feature "Automated handling time" and it was on. when I turned it off it asked me for a reason to turn it off. one reason was "it ignored weekends and or store hours." not an exact quote BTW.

I feel a little disappointed that we work so hard to balance shipping time and handling time to do the best for our over all health with amazon and to satisfy our clients. Just to have Amazon automatically turn on a feature that they know has issues and not fix it, when they are asked to. I was basically told that it was late and we should have rushed in on a Saturday to ship it.

Is this a normal thing to look forward to?

These "changes" are rolled out in batches and there are emails, notices and lots of posts on the forum about them when they are rolled out. Just as a precaution, we check every so often to make sure they haven't changed anything on us.

You are not alone. Amazon turned us on for same day handling time so an order could come in sometime in the morning after we downloaded the day's shipments, and we would be penalized for shipping it the following day. This was NOT something we configured, it was configured FOR us, to "help" us. We had previously disabled it, but it was deliberately changed by Amazon - like we don't know how to run our own operation.

My thread here where I was complaining about this was "escalated" four months ago - but I got no reply or followup other than "still waiting" and I simply gave up on it and disabled the auto-handling - AGAIN.

I did initially try to keep it because it is something Amazon clearly wants us to use - but it's unreasonable and does not take into account that our employees need to maintain a work/life balance. We cannot work them 7 days a week like slave drivers.

Now, I check the setting periodically to make sure it doesn't revert unexpectedly. So far it hasn't, but I do not trust any longer that it won't. It's a shame, really. I shouldn't have to babysit this marketplace so much. All of our other marketplaces require very little effort, and settings always stay the way we configure them.

Honestly, they always randomly do something to complicate sellers lives.
